The romana falls vid was creepy and I don't know what to think. The stop motion animation creeped me out but the concept was interesting.
I liked the Lenny Kravitz one, although the credits got annoying which I think was the point.(At the end of an 80's type movie *giggle*)
Here is a video which I absolutely love. The song is a mash up of David Guetta's Love Don't let me go and The Egg's walking away. It's an actual official video for a mashup, it's so cool!!.
She's always got something up her sleeves. While I knew GaGa could belt out tunes better than perhaps her genre of dance pop often allows, I wasn't expecting to hear life-affirming duets from her. It's a cover of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush's version, and rather nice.
But dawwwww, that video. I wanna cuddle with Lady GaGa too!
Hugs probably aren't what I'd give Lady Gaga if I got that close to her.
Whatcha mean?

Wow that's a change, I'm impressed.
Lady Gaga singing
For real? Cuz she's not exactly a Britney type, relying on auto-tune to save the vocals, and doing whatever her handlers say. She writes songs for those people, then goes to work at her own production company. During live performances, she doesn't just dance and lip sing, she usually heads for the piano and keytar so that you don't mistake her for other robotic poptarts. Even if she only had a voice to go on, though, and stuck to frivolous dance tunes, you can tell she can sing. The big hit right now is 'Bad Romance', but check out the notes she hits from the 3:45 to 4:15 mark:
When she first started out, before all the electronics came into it, she sounded like this:
And here is an old video of her at an NYU variety show:
I just can't put her in the same group with other chart-topping zombie losers who make one's ears bleed and look like junkies. She has a good head on her shoulders (ex: her speech at the equality march in D.C. a few months ago).
I was gonna just post this cuz I adore the song but it turns out the video's very powerful too:
That was really great to look at. Something about Depression-era settings, maybe because I usually see them in films about religion or circuses, there's this feel to everything like all the characters have are each other, their faith, or their attempts to make others happy.
Christina Aguilera's Hurt was like that (except with color photography), as was the show Carnivale, I think.
I just saw the don't give up vid and for some reason it made me all teary. Anyway was it just me or did anyone notice a total solar eclipse in the background of that video?
Concerning Lady Gaga, after her first 2 hits and reading up on her I realized she was not like one of those pop-tarts, she writes songs for other people, and her costume choices and performances always ssems to be about something (although, I don't always get it). Also after Much Music revealed that she sent a multi page email on what performance she wanted to do I realized she takes her work very serioulsy and personally. *Off to watch the rest of the vids*

She's not that bad, I guess. Mainly I just find it annoying that she's talked about like an edgy, avant-guarde artist when her songs are soooo plain, ordinary pop. I wish she'd put even 10% of the energy she puts into making wild, imaginative, and unusual outfits into making wild, imaginative, and unusual music.
I like her way out there personality, and believe she can write songs and is very talented. She's just one of the few singers whose voice doesn't do much for me. My daughter listens to her and I keep thinking I am going to hear her belt out something akin to Annie Lenox's voice...it's just me.
However I really like the video you first posted of Don't Give Up, so maybe I am missing something.
