Thanks for the responses, *E*.
As I think I've said before, the stuff I put up here is more stuff that I think is kinda unique and interesting more than stuff that I think people will love. It looks like those couple songs managed to do at least that with you. :)

No trouble. Well, a little trouble, but only because I'm lazy and take forever to get around to things like this that I don't want to be half-arsed about. :P The more older threads and posts I dig into, the more I see people wondering why such and such wasn't responded to. I will definitely try to work on that, as I look forward to feedback myself, and don't purposely try to withhold it from others. I just don't :poke: anyone about it, but I'm glad they do that to me else I really just might forget it entirely.

There are a few threads around I use as my own personal idea playground. "What are you listening to right now," "last.fm", and this one of course. Then your last.fm pages when I remember to check there. Sometimes I only want my favorites, and other times I am desperate for new material. During those times, there are a lot of songs I'm not able to track down unfortunately, but I try. I'm always looking for tunes that inspire a smile or a feeling of relaxation. Same with movies. There's always the chase for beauty, I guess I would call it.

So for me, I'm not looking for people to suggest music that I may like - I want to know what they like so that I'll give it a try and hopefully enjoy it, too. Okay, well, that is not to say I won't take personal recommendations, I would just feel bad if I didn't end up liking it. :P It's all good, though. I'll try everything. Might not get around to it immediately, but will sooner or later.

I'm not averse to checking out music on MySpace or anything, it' just not what I'm used to, so I'll try to make more of an effort to get over there and contribute links to this thread. Just in case there's a remote chance anyone else may like it.

I just made a playlist with 900 songs on it. That means around 300 songs I haven't listened to yet or am really unfamiliar with. So far, it's fun knowing I won't have to skip anything for a week lol.

Ok, then, in that vein, maybe see if you like Explosions in the Sky (who I'm seeing in a couple weeks  ). They make a beautiful style of instrumental rock music which is often peaceful yet grand. I love 'em. I couldn't find any of their best stuff, but their myspace page has some good songs on it:

Arcade Fire's debut album Funeral is one of the best and most acclaimed albums of the decade. Their excellent second album just came out this week. It has my favorite song of 07 so far. Listen to its joyous grandeur here:

Keep The Car Running

I posted the wonderful video for Feist's "1234" in the video thread. I highly recommend it. :)

Anyways, if you like that song, she has her whole new album available on myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/feist

It particularly strikes like something Elian would like so that recommendation is in her direction.

I know Elian is a Bjork fan - is anybody else? Anyways, I've never quite liked Bjork before but I'm definately digging the stuff off the upcoming album. Check out the new weirdness on her myspace:

Thought El and others might enjoy this charming acoustic performance by Feist:

That was adorable! The wee little xylaphone! :LMAO: And that's (currently) one of my favorite songs from the album. :)

As for Bjork, I have Volta, but I'm not really feeling it at the moment...I like her, but I much prefer her earlier more electronic work to the stuff she does now.

This has become one of my favorite songs of the year. Starts simply, a guy and his acoustic, and very gradually builds up to become a tremendously beautiful song. Check it out:

Elvis Perkins: While You Were Sleeping
