I'm looking for a place to rent it. I don't want to buy season 6 because of the cheesy packaging.

My local video store has every season except #6.

If we're talking funny moments, few beat this one for me:

Woman: This is a simple lie detector. I'm going to ask you a series of yes or no questions and all you have to do is answer. Do you understand?

Homer: Yes.

*lie detector blows up*

Sorry, TWT, but you're incorrect. This lie detector bit is far far funnier:

A Great Simpsons Moments thread without mention of Planet of the Apes? For shame!

"I hate every ape I see, from Chimpan-a to Chimpan-z."
Sublime. True genius.

That was great, but what had that to do with Planet of the Apes?

Did you post the right link? :poke:

I didn't like that planet of the apes episode.

I still like that bit from a couple seasons ago where Homer get's his minister degree off the internet so he can marry gay couples and make money.

After he prints out his collar he looks back at the computer screen and says: "Hmm, a talking moose wants my credit card number. Well that's only fair." And he proceeds to type it in. :D

Have you tried eBay? I told you once how you can ship a non-stupidly-packaged version. Maybe you can find one on eBay? Such as this:

Season 6

(that's PAL so doesn't work but it does show the box version so it must be out there)

My absolute favorite Simpsons moment - and sorry, can't find a video for this - was in the Episode "Kill the Alligator and Run". In the episode, Homer goes to Florida for spring break, and, at one point in the show a MTV VJ is shown filming when suddenly a crystal in her hand is shown flashing red. She screams something like "no, no - I'm still young, I'm STILL young!" or something like that. She's quickly taken away and replaced with another younger and perkier VJ.

It's a reference to a movie called Logan's Run, and it is fucking brilliant. I can only find the video for the reference to the movie in the Family Guy though :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_RRsr-Osjs

If anyone can find the episode for the Simpsons, that would be fantastic.

This is pretty damned good - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP1X-O2e ... ed&search=

Oh, and this is my favorite intro ever - reminds me of the first time I shroomed :blackeye: - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNV9FEKi9FQ

The sequence leading up to "Homer, are you still holding on to the can?" "Your point being?"

One of my favorite moments were Kang and Kodos exclaiming, "holy flerking schnit!" Can't think of a better way to get around the censors than through alien language. :D

Many of my favorite moments involve the aliens. Here are some clips: link. Especially love the bits where Kang impregnated Marge ("you're looking lovely this evening, have you decreased in mass?") and Homer answers the door, "oh, great. Mormons.." Also in the election episode where Clinton and Dole's bodies are taken over and they're walking down the street holding hands.

EDIT: now I'm thinking of them faster than I can type/describe.

Okay, I love the episode with Homer's mom. At the end when she has to leave him in the desert, the credits roll over him sitting on the hood of the car while he looks up in the sky, thinking. It's just a favorite moment of mine. The times where they go for real moments over slapstick, it's genuinely touching. Bart and Lisa working together, Homer trying to make ammends with Marge or his dad... just brings a smile to my face.

With the funnies, though, I liked when Homer was checking out his stock options on the phone where you speak the company you're looking for and an automated voice will tell you if it went up or down. He gets good news and let's out a "woohoo!", prompting the voice to say, "Yahoo Corporation... up 3%." Confused, Homer asks, "what the hell is this crap?" The voice replies, "Fox Broadcasting... down ten percent." :damnfunny: The digs at Fox are wonderful. I particularly loved their interpretation of what the Fox satellite looks like: a dinky little busted up thing struggling to maintain the height of a flagpole. :P

And Homer's bear costume with the trapdoor, so to speak, because he figures if he sees one he'll shit himself. :LMAO:

Oh, and when he gains weight to get on disability to work from home, there is an emergency so he's trying to call the plant and let them know, but his fingers are too big for the numberpad. The automated voices come on in it's stilted delivery: "the fingers you have used to dial... are too fat. To receive a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad now." My brothers and I always quote that one and add "dialing wand" to our Christmas lists.

Ten minutes of clips. "Stupid sexy Flanders." :D More of them.

Ooo, remember when Stan Lee guested? He was trying to convince the comic book guy that he could turn into the Hulk because "it really worked one time." :P He can barely rip his shirt lol.

Red Tick Beer. That just always made me giggle.
