Gone Gaeta gone...

What I found amusing was Lampkin trying so hard to be bad, or at least neutral, and he couldn't quite manage it. :damnfunny:

What I found funny about Lampkin was his :Q at the whole thing. Here's this anti-social guy who was shocked by the mutiny.

Lampkin definitely does have a conscience. He just doesn't like to show it much?

Spoilers abound:

So last week we had Gaius mention Gaeta's special pen (referencing the one he stabbed Gaius with) and this week we get another person stabbed by a pen. Seems to be a choice weapon in BSG world eh?

Much better episode...shocking though. It was hard to fathom the actions of Gaeta and Zarek's crew. And Zarek having the quorum killed? OMGWTGBBQ!!!! :Q:Q:Q:Q:Q Truly a madman.

How on earth was Zarek being the judge of Adama's court marshall at all fair? Seriously, the leader of the rebellion judging the person he's rebelling against? What the frak?

I can't believe Gaeta was ready and willing to kill Adama and Roslin. There's no way that that would ever be right. Thank goodness for Hotdog and Kelly.

Of course Gaius would be banging another Six!

Kara/Lee and their gun porn! They were so awesome!

Anders getting shot. :(:(:(:( It was good to see Kara caring about him again though.

I actually liked Roslin this episode which is a huge change as she's been incredibly annoying since at least the beginning of S4.

Sooooooooo glad that Zarek was shot. Mixed feeling about Gaeta. He was being a little ass and was responsible for lots of violence. Rationally, he got what he deserved though still it's difficult as he used to be good.

I like Kara caring about Anders too, it seemed that she had stopped a long time ago and wasn't interested at all now since he was nothing more than a 'toaster'

I thought overall it was a very good episode.

As for the final five, I have to wonder how fraked up they must be since they have gone most of their lives being human.

I kept thinking that Geata was going to stop things at some point, but he didn't. And the shooting of the rest of the quorum :Q My thought was once the other ships realize their reps were killed there would be an attempt to stop the mutiny.

I think Kara's opinion of Sam changed for the better once she found out he's a Cylon. I think all the stuff she's gone through with Leoben has changed her views to be much more accepting of Cylons. And of course with now her not knowing what the frak she is, I think she probably feels like she has a hell of a lot more in common with them...possibly even more so than with the humans.

For a second there when Gaeta repeated Adama's "One day soon, there will be a reckoning" line, I thought maybe Gaeta was double crossing Zarek and really in with Adama...but then I realized that a lot of people were killed and there was no way anyone would go to that length to trap Zarek.

I don't think the other ships knew that Zarek had the quorum killed.

Anyone think Zarek and Gaeta are going to be matyrs now? And what's going to happen to all the other crew who took part like Selix, Racetrack, Narcho...

Nope. I think the board has been cleared of loose ends so there's no distraction for the last 6 eps. ;)

I think that Kara never really stopped loving Anders. She just didn't understand that until he got shot.

Great epi. Very shocking though - I liked Gaeta even when he betrayed Gaius, and I could sort of understand his reasons for the coup.

Only six episodes left? Blimey. :Q

That was right after the FTL failed just as it was about to fully spool up, right? Gaeta kind of froze there. Zarek started flipping out at him. For a moment I thought Gaeta was displaying a moment of incompetence, but then I realized that he was waiting. The moment the FTL went down, he knew what was coming and he knew he couldn't fight it.

Yep.

Btw, Galactica has a kewl looking engine.

I'm thinking the ship isn't going to make it to the end of the show. I'm not sure what the Chief saw but it looked like major damage.

I agree with you Eru, I don't think it's going to make it. In fact I think they will be on the cylon ship in the end.

Of course....I think it will be a coming home of sorts. ;)

Of sorts. My crackpot theory is humans were to the gods what the cylons are to the humans, or something like that. Doesn't explain why the 13th tribe was recognized as cylon by both the cylons and the humans though.

Rio,

My theory is just flipped. The Cylons are the humans from earth and the humans are changed for the long journey through space to find a new home after we nuked this planet or the astroid hit. More to my theory is the 12 cylons are clones of geneticists and humans are the embroyos they put in deep freeze. The clones were inplanted with a computer i.e. chip so the memories of the geneticists would some how awake and be able to continue the human race somewhere else, because we were going to be destroyed here on earth.

Is that what you were going for?

I have to say I am still sick, at work and my head is pretty light and spinning. So if this doesn't make sense...well I am not in my right mind and my wits are pretty shakey.

Nah, I think she just felt a sense of responsibility and duty. I don't think there's any feelings left there really anymore. I think there's going to be some sort of go-round with Kara and Lee again.

I'm sad that Zarek turned into a bad guy at the end. The beauty of Zarek is that he was kind of an ambiguous character, who had done bad things but was a revolutionary, and had opposed Baltar on New Caprica. I was sorry to see him written off as a bad guy with the killing of the quorum. I think it would have been better if that hadn't happened. Because, really, there was some things fueling the mutiny. Like the de facto military dictatorship and the fact that Laura had rigged the election, and the imposition of Cylon FTL drives throughout the ships without their consent.

I think there was some sort of fight on Kobol between the 12 tribes of humans and the 13th tribe of Cylons, which left to found Earth. The 13th tribe were the human cylons. Not sure exactly who the 5 were on Earth but somehow they left and became part of the Colonies. But how they relate to the 7 models and Kara and the Hybrids and all that.....yikes. Hopefully it will all be explained......

Galactica is a goner. Did you see the cracks in the engine room wall that Tyrol was staring at? The old bucket is going to kick the bucket.

I think Kara just cares for Anders because of her past with him. I don't think she loves him as her true love is for Lee. I do think she is conflicted because of a sense of duty.

For me it was hard to see exactly what the chief was looking at. I should watch the show again, especially in order to give the music another listen. Bear McCreary said this was maybe the most challenging episode he had to score because there was so much action music needed.

I've never felt that Zarek was that ambiguous. Yes, he had some reasons for his cause, but his methods have always been violent which is wrong. I also think he's always been power hungry himself.

Well, with Zarek, he might have been violent in the past, but the American revolutionaries were violent and rose up against the established order, right? :P I mean, we root for Adama/Roslyn/Lee/Kara but if you look at their actions as a whole to lead the fleet it's not been done in a perfect way. Remember the tylium ship? They've been pretty rigid and dictatorial. I think what's her name the Pegasus captain was too far in that direction, but Adama and crew are along the spectrum there. Are the show's creators saying that true democracy doesn't work in times of true emergency? But Zarek to me was ambigous because perhaps his methods weren't always the best, but perhaps there was something to it. We don't know much about the Colonies. Maybe they weren't all that great. The President of the Colonies on Caprica wasn't that nice of a guy--wasn't he having an affair with Roslyn?

I agree with you on the music. The music is so great, yet I'm always so caught up in the action I don't notice it. :( Except for things like Gaeta's song, after he lost his leg.

For all those who can watch it, tonight's episode is probably the best ever.

So much answered, and I really now can appreciate the build up and things that we got for the last several weeks.

Kara DOES care for Anders, and Ellen is far more than what she ever seemed. As for John, screw him, ungrateful wretch that he turned out to be. But we DID get the answer to the mysterious missing xevens. :P

And, I was so happy for Caprica Six and Saul tonight. Maybe the series will not end on such a bleak note as what I had envisioned. :)

On the other hand, Tyrol and Tory? :Q I cannot see that one having occurred.

Amen to Tyrol and Tory...woah.

Anyone else think the baby is Daniel? Which in my mind leaves another wtf is Kara? I am leaning to she is one of the original lost 13 tribe humans. I think the 13th tribe invented the ai for the cylons to begin with, realized their mistake and tried to rectifiy it by leaving. At least thats what I am getting out of it all.

Now if some one were to just clone and computerize a t-rex..we'd have our selves a movie. :D

Maybe Kara is the Seven's daughter? The 8 can't procreate with each other, but they can hybridize with humans...
