The island is Purgatory, the John Locke Smoke Monster Man in Black dude is the devil, Jacob is Jacob of the Bible guarding the devil to keep him on the island. Everyone else is pawns....in the game they play.

That's my splaning.

Does anybody remember back when the asshats who produce this stuff said there would be a scientific explanation for everything, ie: not supernatural?

I may stick with the show, and miss it when it's gone, but I ain't never buying into any 'genius' label with those guys. A pat on the back and a kick in the shins, maybe...

My theory on how this is going to end: Jack and Sawyer are the only ones who will remain in the island - as the new Jacob and Man in Black. Jacob/Jack believes he has a task to do in the island; MIB/Sawyer is desperate to leave, but Jacob/Jack won't let them. Hmmm.

Could be, I hadn't thought of it like that. But where does Locke go?

Locke is dead.
Dead is dead.
There is no coming back from that.

Desmond has yet to be accounted for. For someone that is special and who the "rules" don't apply to, that is saying a lot. He could be the new Jacob as he is already wandering about the alternate universe and making people aware of the other timeline. Acting all Jacob like as it were.

Fake Locke is doomed as this is American tv and the bad guy cannot win.

Sawyer is Sawyer. My guess is that he is going to and is conning Locke and Widmore to get what he wants.

Hurley will still be Hurley.

The rest are up for either meh or death.

:salmon: Holby I meant MIB smoke monster Locke, not the real Locke.

Berhael has a very good theory on this. That would be a neat ending. I used to try to figure this out but have completely give up. I watch it, love it and simply want to see what happens next.

I will miss this show. :bawl:

I will miss it too, but it will leave time for me to do other things. Like watching the paint dry.

I'm actually pretty on board with Smocke's plan. Especially if he gets Kate.

Spoilers...

I'm thinking Jack is the new Jacob and Claire is the new Smocke. I think Hurley, Sawyer and Kate are the new body guards. Which leaves Ben and Desmond...Desmond the new Richard? And Ben the new temple guy whose name I can't remember?

Oh and I think it's not time traveling. I think it's dimension traveling, their traveling in different dimensions.

And I was expecting one person to die, not three. I will admit that when Hurley started breaking down I had tears in my eyes too, then Jack. I think this episode was one of the best so far, I expect awards or at least nominations.

Best of the season or best of the show? It's one of their better this season, but I don't know that I'd put it above Ab Aeterno if you're looking purely at its own merits rather than within the arc.

I'm more inclined to think that rather than so-and-so become the new Jacob or the new MiB, there will be an overturning of the old order. I could be incorrect, but we also don't know Jacob's origins enough to really say how that all works.

Season so far is what I meant. It was that damn Hurley crying that did me in, and then Jack started.

I just feel so screwed over at this point. Even if I didn't catch snippets of things that were supposed to happen in future episodes, so much just doesn't feel true to what they'd already set up. I don't believe the next pair of episodes will give answers so much as set up the next stage of existence for whoever survives. I'm sticking around to see what happens, not enjoy it. :scared:

I liked the latest episode and all, but I can't help feel that the writers have written a check their minds cannot cash.
Meh.

Eko has a fabulous pair of breasts, as I suspected.

Can we name every character there? :uhoh:

lol @ fatties and minorities always being the easiest to spot. ;) Jack looks like a science teacher, so I kept wondering if it was Miles' dad. Charlie has grey hair and a stache. Poor Juliet and Boone, their delicate features didn't make the translation haha.

I can't believe we're in the last week. Did anyone else think it was funny two episodes ago when Jack kept running into 815ers and not just noting the coincidence but asking them about it too? Apparently this alternate universe is capable of communication.
