The wife and I saw it last night. We both loved it and will buy the DVD when it comes out. It did remind me a lot of The Princess Bride in its tone, except this was a big fantasy movie where TPB was a small fairy tale. Since I love TPB, this is a good thing. I had only a few minor quibbles with the film, which I won't bother to mention, because they're minor.

Overall, the movie was fun, and even heartwarming. As Ax said, a perfect date movie.

And I want a ship like Capt. Shakespeare's!
When I win the lottery, I'm building me one of those.

That's because you Brits don't go to the movies in summer. Or so I'm told. :D

I'm going to try to wheedle my Mom into taking me to see this after my campus visit tomorrow.

:D Hopefully I can convince her.

I went to a movie theater and they didn't have Stardust!

I almost demanded to see the manager. But I was really, really sore and wet, so I didn't.

I saw a trailer for this when I was in America in late spring/early summer, and another trailer for it when I came back to the UK. I've got to say, the trailer I saw over here was different, and better.

Can't wait till October to see it :)

We saw it. We loved it. Should at least get an Oscar nomination for Original Score - if only for the music when Primus is in the bath. Bit of LOTR music too in there at times.

Some dodgy FX though (mini-elephants at the beginning and shattering glass at the end).

But overall, definately one to own.

We really have to go and see this (which will be the first time I've been to the cinema since Kingdom of Heaven!) - maybe Friday night or maybe next week after work. Will let you guys know what I think!

Awesome movie. The spiritual sequel to Princess Bride. Even has a really cool swordfight ;)

went today with the boys we enjoyed it - thought the end sequence in the witches house was overlong - otherwise one of the better films

I am so glad to see that this film is liked by those across the pond. I hope it comes out on DVD here soon, it really had a way too short run in the theaters here.

When I look at all of the drek out there in cinema land right now, there is not anything I am looking forwards to with real hope, there is the new "Beowulf" which I am predicting will be dire, and then there are the silly typical kids movie fare which is fun, but not truly entertaining for us adults. Ah well, take the good movies when one can!! :)
