Tactics all the way.

It's one of the few games which I've actually found difficult during the actual storyline. If you had an underpowered party or a bad strategy you were done for. Not to mention it had a killer storyline.

It is about a teenage boy saving the world, but at least he looks like a boy which is more than can be said for some of the ones from the other Final Fantasys!

I also enjoyed the art style. It was different in an excellent way, I think.

Which one are we talking about here?

Final Fantasy Tactics for PSX although they just re released it to PSP with expanded content.

Psh man, you gotta go old school. The single best RPG ever made, Final Fantasy 2 on the Super Nintendo, now that defines badass in a game. Ive played some version of tactics on some system, obviously some time ago I only remember it rocking. Im not really a fan of where Final Fantasy seems to be heading though, mmorpg's shouldn't be where Final Fantasy is IMO, it needs to go back to the more single player for my liking.

Of the Final Fantasy games, VI was definitely my favorite. Tactics, though it didn't follow the mold of the more standard FF games, is easily my favorite strategy rpg. And Secret of Mana remains my favorite action rpg. All by Square, interestingly enough.

It would appear that one's formative gaming years heavily bias one's later preferences.
