No, I don't want it split. And I'm rather sceptical about 3D as well. I want the focus to be one the movie(s ), not the format.

To be quite honest, I have a somewhat bad feeling about this whole thing.

FURTHER, New Line and Peter Jackson then intend on converting the Lord of the Rings trilogy into 3D as well and re-releasing them in theaters between 2012 and 2014!
And how many extra super special editions of the 3D versions will follow?

Absolute BS, methinks - somebody just had an idea from watching Beowulf. Let's see if my sauce at New Line is still around...

If true two movies would be great news. Come on people, the more Middle-earth that gets on screen the better! They'd be able to draw on other sources beside the Hobbit. There is plenty that can fill 2 movies. Even they invent stuff it will most likely be great.

Ugh, no. I see absolutely no reason to make The Hobbit into two movies. It's a simple, clear story that needs and deserves one movie only. Two movies will surely bring about plenty of detours to Osgiliath...

Possibly, but Compa_Mighty had this to say on TORC in response to my posting the link there:
Compa_Mighty wrote:
I have been checking this blog regularly... For some months now. He was the first one that reported EW's cover, and I have seen him write about many of the rumours that have gone out a couple days earlier than the rest of the sites.

I wouldn't risk my life on it, but he seems trustworthy. Apparently he DOES have Hollywood connections. He mentioned he was an extra in an upcoming movie, and seems to get lots of info about computer-related matters in movies.

I would say this is probably true... let's hope so!
Others were less certain, such as Razorback, suggesting that the ultimate source could be speculations such as have appeared on places like TORC itself.

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

I just read an article about Beowulf in 3D and how incredibly successful it was so I have no doubt that this is the reason The Hobbit might take this form as well. I personally don't care if they change the format I just want to see the movie adaptation. If anything showing The Hobbit in 3D is just adding two more dimensions for purists to hate the film in.

Maybe some of the dwarves will be female. I always wondered about Fili and Kili ...

I want The Hobbit to be made if for no other reason than to give us some good movie debates again!

The "2 movies" could be The Hobbit and "What Gandalf did when he disappeared during The Hobbit".

Sounds dirty. :blackeye:

Bah, no, I don't want PJ making up stories of his own. You have a perfectly good tale in The Hobbit, Mr Jackson, leave it at that.

If he only stuck to what was in The Hobbit I would be very disappointed!
