Of course, I've been following the production very closely over the last year as only a geek can, and I have to say it's probably the best one yet.

Here's a new trailer:

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

I saw the trailer before Sex and the City (I think) and it gave me goosebumps. James Bond is teh hottness. After Casino Royale I was sold on Daniel Craig and new Bond flavor, Craig's Bond is such a bad ass.

They are calling
From across the distant shore

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

I'll likely see it sometime.....watched Casino Royale in Holland with Ags this summer. Thought it was pretty good. The stark difference in Bond style made me feel like it wasn't quite.....Bond. But perhaps the badass will get a little more suave in this one. Not that I couldn't appreciate the character potrayed by Daniel Craig, but I just didn't feel like he was Bond. A completely different person with the same name.

He has potential though, surely. The badass just needs a little polish. ;)

I think that was the point of the first one. He was supposed to be rough and ready. That's the reason we didn't hear the classic bond theme until the very end: he had yet to become the suave Bond.

I can't wait for this one! I think it's a stupid name though. To me, it suggests that the entire film will consist of him lying on a beach in the Caribbean with a hot blonde.

Well I have to wait until Friday before it finally opens in Gibraltar...

*sigh*

Big debut in the US over the w/e - USD 70m, and breaking records in the UK too.

Meh.

Hopefully it will grow on me over time. The arch-villian was wishy-washy and the story just didn't connect. Good set pieces, but the story hanging them together just didn't work for me.

Only one geek-out moment. A business card he hands to someone has the cover name R. Sterling, which was a name used by Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Meh too. I much preferred Casino Royale, the story in this one seemed a bit weak. And Craig's Spanish is dreadful. :D

Wow, I forgot to come post in here...

I saw it for free a few hours before the midnight release. (Legally too....lol) I thought it was a good American action movie, but it certainly didn't feel like Bond.

I thought the story was pretty horrid as well, but...I have a thing about stories using "enviromental disasters" as evil works. I mean, come on............. :doh1:
