I see on amazon the stereo box set is $190 and the mono box set is $260! There are individual albums with "2009" listed as the date, but there's nothing in the writeups or reviews that specify that they're the new remastered versions. Not sure I want to dump $260 or even $190 all at once on Beatles music...
Count yourself lucky. I did a comparison of 3 different online sites yesterday.

Amazon.com
The Beatles Stereo Box Set [BOX SET] [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]
Price: $179.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.

Amazon.co.uk
The Beatles Box Set - Remastered in Stereo [Box set] [Collector's Edition] [Original recording remastered]
Price: £169.98

Play.com
The Beatles (Stereo Boxset 16CD & DVD) (2009 Digital Remaster)
EUR 220.99 Free Delivery

Lets just compare those prices shall we?

Play.com is €220
Amazon.co.uk is £170. XE.com says: €195
Amazon.com is $180. XE.com says: €124

Thats nearly €100 cheaper than the EU price... Christ we're screwed.

You can order it directly from amazon.ca instead if you like. Unless if, as Ax says, it's sold out.

Only the mono box is sold out, AFAIK.

I had heard they were only making 40,000 copies of the mono version, and that 10,000 were being shipped to the US. Those numbers seems small to me but who knows.

Well, we three kids decided to all chip in and order the mono box set for my dad. On amazon it's not actually listed as "sold out", it says "Usually ships in two to three weeks". We'll see if we actually receive a copy or not.

I notice that the price of the stereo set has risen from $190 to $220.

The hubby just invested in the mono box. But then, he's a geek. :P

Lost George Harrison song finished by U.K. writer

In other news, the mono box set that I ordered over a month ago hasn't arrived. Who knows if I'll get lucky?

Ha. Well, after posting the above - it has arrived!

I brought it over to my dad's and we listened to "Help!" I could pick out some differences from what I remembered, but not enough offhand to write a review just now.

This is brilliant - and the historian in me wonders if our understanding of events 1000 years ago is as inaccurate as this documentary of the Beatles, set 1000 years in the future:
