AAAAHHH!!!

WOOOOWWW!!!

AMAAAAAAZING!!!

*geeks out*

Vague spoilers in white

I love the way the were so confident in the success of the film that they put in the "I'm relieved" bit. I was like *massive LOL at the utter cheese!*

Loved the Spock on Spock action!

I also love the way the composer seemed to be ripping the piss with the music, putting in quasi ragtime string bits at moments when people were about to die. It's like he realised that he couldn't top the original series theme, so he didn't even bother trying, until the end, when he built up the horn fanfare during the Nimoy speech bit with brass polyphony. *music geeks out*

I had a buddy go see this for the second time today. I do really hope they make another with the same group of actors and same director. Good stuff!

They have some little Treky things thrown in that was interesting to see. Like did you notice the tribble in the movie? I didn't but here is a list of little things they threw in.

I really loved it. It works on several levels.

Spoilers:

I loved the repeating motif of heights. First Kirk almost flies off the cliff with the car, then he almost falls off the drilling rig, then on the Romulan ship he almost falls off the walkway. I could barely look--I used to rock climb quite a bit, and I have experienced the "grip" or freeze when you don't feel properly safe and/or anchored in....I also enjoyed the motif that Kirk kept getting the crap kicked out of him. He's always ready to launch into a fight but then gets thumped on every time....except the last time, when he grabbed the Romulan's gun while getting thumped on. I loved Uhura, much better character this time around. And the alternative universe....sounded lame and hokey at first, but now having watched it I get the brilliance of it. We have the same characters, same Federation....but it's twisted around in a new way and can go new directions. I thought the acting was brilliant, expecially Kirk. The new Kirk embodied the best of the old Kirk but without the hamminess. His back story of losing his father and having an attitude makes total sense for the character.
I wanna see it again NOW!

I agree they need a better villain. Who should it be?

No, you just have different taste. For me, it was more his personality, combined with his looks. I've never thought he was that cute before now.

Plus the pointy ears. I have a thing for pointy ears. ;)

Easily the best film I have seen for a very long time. I have no criticisms whatsoever.:Q

Very clever that the time-line is now altered so the writers have a blank check for any sequels and are not hemmed in.

I also think that was brilliant.

(But many of the changes are so sad!)

And I'm hoping we'll have more movies (or maybe even a series) to watch.

Eru, I'm not swooning over Spock either.

Not swooning over newSpock??? *checks Eru and River for pulse*

I became a fan of Zachary's from "Heroes," where he plays the evil serial killer Sylar. I felt just a bit guilty rooting for the evil serial killer, but he is seriously attractive. :heya:

Half the budget went on shaving off part of Quinto's eyebrows.

Saw it again tonight. Absolutely superb. The only thing that doesn't rhyme is bumping into Scotty. Just too much against the probabilities in this alternate reality.

And Kirk being ejected out of the Enterprise and landing on a random planet that just happens to be in the area of where Spock ends up being isn't against the probabilities? Oh and that Spock happens to be from an alternate future. :P
