I don't have kids, but if I did I wouldn't take them unless they were at least 10.

That's just me personally, but I went with three other college students and we were all a little disturbed at some places.

Saw it a couple of weeks back.
To me it felt like half the story was missing... And I never read Alice in Wonderland, not a book we grow with in France I guess ;) ;)

I did not see it in 3D for one very simple reason, makes me dizzy and then it is useless :P :P.

As much as I liked Johnny Depp in his first roles, it seems to me that he got stuck in the same characters over the past few years especially since Jack Sparrow to me. It is too bad, because some of his earlier performances were great (thinking of the Ninth Gate although the movie was kinda weird), I also have a fond memory of his performance in Return to Neverland but well.

What bothered me most though is the constant use of CGI, it feels like you're watching a computer game as opposed to a movie and the more I see movies like this the more annoyed I am. Started (for me as a full re-engineered movie) with Beowulf, continued with Avatar and now Alice. It does not necessarily make for a nice experience. Sorry but if you don't want actors in the movies anymore, then go animation thank you very much.

It was not a bad movie but all in all too fast, sometimes too dark, sometimes too Narnia like (Alice on that huge fluffy and furry creatures in her armour like the girl on Aslam in Narnia )... The idea might have been nice if the world had felt more real I guess.

I thought that it was an interesting take on the story, but it is definitely not for children. I took my 12 year old, but I wouldn't take anyone younger.
