I do think the big cinemas at least will survive. My local cinema is the world's largest THX cinema - you're going to need a
very large basement to match that.
If the cinema is a good and big one, it's still true that movies are best in the cinema.
Also, I think people like the experience of going out and doing something. (At least I do...) You can put a DVD in your DVD player every night, but going to the cinema is something (a bit more) special. And I know I get a lot more sucked into the movie when I watch it at a cinema. Perhaps just
because you can't just go to the bathroom or talk to your friend or press pause to make more popcorn. Everything is fully focused on the movie. And I like the feeling of the big, dark room and all the people sharing the experience with me.
