I haven't seen a thread on this here, so apologies if I missed it.

What a touching, beautiful movie! A film critic here stated that the first 15 minutes of Up are the best cinema all year, and I have to agree. I thought it was losing its way a little in the middle, but true to form Pixar proved me wrong. Their best yet I think.

I didn't care for all the talking, inexplicably intelligent dogs (in planes?? ). Otherwise: genius. And yes, what a powerful opening.

I still haven't seen this but plan to. I know the beginning is sad, but I hear the rest is happier.

Is the DVD release the 3D version? I know that the upcoming release of "Coraline" is, but I can't find information on "Up".

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

We just watched it at home a few days ago and we are still talking about it. It's at the super cheapy theaters so we will probably see it again in theaters. It was funny, cute, and poignant.

Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

I cry like an idiot every time I see this movie - at the beginning, when Carl looks at the album, and at the very end. I've seen it 4 times in 4 days (Alex likes it) and I've cried like an idiot those 4 times. Pixar know how to tug at my heartstrings.

Yes, it's a good one to watch when you need a cry.

Me too. :bawl:

What an amazing, beautiful movie, I saw it for the first time a week ago.

My mom and I saw this in theaters when it was "new" and I'll admit that it made me cry. I never cry at movies. The last time I cried at the movies was the first time I saw FoTR and Boromir's death scene. :LMAO:

It's such an amazing movie. The small details are amazing, the story is engaging, and it's just so pretty too.

Couple Bases Their Engagement Photoshoot on the movie "UP"

Lynnette… I have a confession, I am in love with you. It is not the ‘usual’ love, but the love that makes me remember the little things, the ‘boring’ things. It is the boring things in life that I will remember the most. The memories of jumping over sidewalk cracks to how the clouds talk to us. You make me remember the moments. It is that love that makes me believe. Belief that I was there when you were a toothless kid. Dancing through life, only stopping to hold my hand. Letting me know that anything is possible. I am in love with you, ‘my greatest adventure’. – James

Incidentally, although its not in the same league as Up, we took the kids to see "How to train your Dragon" today. Really, really, lovely movie. Like I say, its not as deep as Up, but its as heart warming in its on way. Highly recommended for the young, the young at heart, and anyone who loves fantasy and dragons!

It was a great movie. I only saw it a month ago or so but it was very well done. I'm sure smarter people than me have better ways to describe it but I liked the "elderly element" in the film. Not often that I can think of have they made a kid's movie with an older person in the "lead role".

On a different note, my favorite animated movie of the year has to be the Fantastic Mr. Fox. Loved it. It was near perfect, IMHO... :)
