I was a huge fan of the original and recently watched it again with the kids. I hope this matches the original in style, but with better effects.

The effects definitely look awesome. I don't know that I've ever seen the original, but Freddy is a big fan. I wonder if we should watch the old version some time soon.

Oh definitely see it! Its campy but great fun, and pretty much Ray Harryhausen's swansong. Worth watching for that alone!
