So I'm kinda lazy and only looked back a couple pages. Is there a thread about comics, or better yet, does anyone care?

If the answer to either question is 'yes' lemme know please! :)

I love talking comics.

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

Considering Hal and used to own a comic book store I should think there a thread or two about them in the Literary Rambles forum ;) :P

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

I figured that might be the case, but couldn't find any. Then again, I my search didn't last long. :P

I've cried a thousand oceans, and I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home.

Oh, books.

I like comic strips. :D

But I did read my first ever comic book in '08 when I was into The Dark Knight. I guess Heath Ledger used The Killing Joke comic as inspiration for his performance, and I didn't know you could read books online haha. Actually, one of the best parts was that I read/described the first several pages over the phone to Wilma because she was babysitting a sick animal and had to stay awake. But since it was new to me as well, she was getting real-time reactions to some of the panels, like, "so Batman leans over an- OH SHIT! THE JOKER ESCAPED AND THIS GUY'S A FAKE!" or "zomg, I think they killed Gordon's daughter, that soooo didn't happen in the movie". It was kick-ass, I stayed up to finish it even after Wilma went to bed. :P

Did Arkham Asylum come out yet? :uhoh: I seem to recall being stunned by some artwork for it and wanting to see the rest asap!

I'm reading the Buffy Comics now and have also bought V for Vendetta and an Alan Moore collection. Using Comiczeal on iPhone for the Buffy Stuff.

Sorry I never answered your question there *E*, Arkham Asylum: A serious house on serious earth (the long title) came out in 1989. It does have some amazing artwork. I probably mentioned this in one of my previous posts but beware, this isn't your children's Batman. :D

Alan Moore did some great work. I'm reading some of his newer stuff, Neonomicon specifically and its still good. He works with Avatar Press now (has nothing to do with the movie Avatar). They really give him free reign so he writes what he wants how he wants. Makes it interesting not to have censors...
