Actually, I'm not that optimistic about it never happening - but voting technique is to be discussed anyway, I think, and I agree some kind of precaution is necessary - heck, only yesterday I insisted on it - I guess, if we find a problem with this procedure later, it could still be changed, so I'm voting option 2 as well. :)
I'm more optimistic about it than you, Hobby, and the reason is the way votes have gone in the Invites forum. The only people who were voted down were really extremely controversial. I would expect similar logic to obtain with respect to admin volunteers. :)

Folks, in the interest of cleaning up and pushing things along, last night I moved the text of Option 2 into the "Document so far" because it has more than 11 votes and the gap between Option 2 and Option 1 is larger than the number of people who have not voted yet.

I will leave this thread open for people to wander in and vote and will ask an admin - any admin - to lock it when the vote count shows 21.

Members of the committee - to discuss the ballot about eligibility, go to the thread entitled "Eligibility Requirements.

To discuss any other item on the agena concerning admins, go back to the "Admin Powers" thread.

Thank you,
Jn

Jn, I just want to thank you again for the incredible organizational effort you're putting in. I know you're a very busy person, and keeping track of all the votes and riding herd on the committee can't be your idea of leisure-time fun. It's a huge gift to our board that you're willing to do this.

Option two seems fairest to me so I voted for it.

Edit: oops, missed the second page before I posted. The vote has been decided already.

That's OK Silwen. I'd prefer it if everyone voted because then we have a total count for the archives.
