:D

We're still waiting for Nin and Holby who are out of town until Sunday night, iirc. The ranked choice question is so close that it still could be any one of three answers, depending on the last two votes.

Sorry, but the way the question is worded, it would mean all admins are 18. Not younger or older.

Sorry I am late, but I had to digest all of this stuff and give it some thought.

People,

Nin will be voting either tonight or tomorrow, and I don't want to post the final vote count until she casts her ballot, but meanwhile we have a majority on all the issues so I am going to post the results and move these provisions into the document. Just btw, I am maintaining copies of all ballots, votes, and vote tallies on my computer for future reference.

oops! Nin and I must have cross posted - there's her ballot above this post instead of below it. Sorry, Nin!

The results are: 1. Yes; 2. E; 3. Yes; 4. A; 5. Yes; 6. Yes;

¶2: Eligibility of Members to Serve as Administrators

• To serve as an administrator, a member should be at least eighteen years of age, have been a member for six months while maintaining a continuous, visible, and contributory presence on the board and have spent enough time on the experimental board to demonstrate an ability to perform the routine functions of an admin. Holby, I corrected the first sentence. Thanks for catching that!

• The same person may serve as administrator more than once, but not in two consecutive terms.

• A member may not begin a term of office if they are currently involved in any capacity in an Arbitration involving an Administrator or a Hearing on a Ban.

• Registered members as of March 12, 2005 are eligible to serve as admins providing they have spent enough time on the experimental board to demonstrate an ability to perform the routine functions of an admin, and are not currently involved in any capacity in an Arbitration involving an Administrator or a Hearing on a Ban.

Committee Members,

Please return to this thread: Convention: Admin Powers
to continue the discussion. The next voting item will be

¶3: Selection of Administrators

and we are discussion that procedure right now.

My school term begins tomorrow, and Alandriel and Farawen are out of town this coming week, so those of you who are here please pick up the ball and express your opinions about admin selection so that we can keep moving forward. Thank you!

Jn

Jnyusa, I thought that your work and devotion for this convention was worth a little argument with my father in law about my Internet addiction and a sneak in from the Easter week-end....

Thanks, Nin!

OK - here's the final vote count on the questions:

Q1: Must be 18 or older: Yes = 18; No = 1
Q2: Option E: 6 mos, no min = 10; Option A: 6 mos, 250 min = 9
Q3: Time on experimental board: Yes = 11; No = 8
Q4: Option A: no consecutive terms = 15; Option B: one term/year = 4
Q5: Not involved in hearing, etc.: Yes = 15; No = 4
Q6: Members as of 3/12 eligible: Yes = 12; No = 7

Thank you!

Admins can lock this thread at their leisure
