QUESTION 1: Routine powers
1. Activate memberships
2. Create new forums when a majority of current administrators agree it is necessary
3. Move the appropriate threads into newly created forums as necessary
4. Create temporary admin positions when a majority of current administrators agree this is necessary, provided that the appointees have served as administrators in the past and no formal complaint has been issued against them for their actions as an administrator. A temporary appointment will last for two full weeks and may be renewed one time (four full weeks in total).
5. In the Jury Room and the Archive, enable posting rights, delete illegitimate posts from Arbitrations and Hearings, and delete threads when they are finished.
6. In the Thinking of England Forum, enable posting rights when age confirmations are received.
7. Lock, split or move threads upon request of members, or when it is necessary to improve the coherence of a forum. The thread originator must be notified beforehand.
8. If a poster registers an invalid email address, restrict posting rights to the Bike Racks and send the poster a PM so that a correct address can be provided
9. Download new smileys
10. Delete double posts at the request of the poster

Please Select One:
A. I accept all ten of the above routine powers
B. I wish to exclude power(s) [#] (please fill in the number of all powers you wish to exclude)

If a majority of people vote for A, we will not visit individual exclusions. However, if a majority of people vote for B, we will accept only those numbers that have not been proposed for exclusion, and have a separate discussion + yes/no vote on each proposed exclusion, unless a majority objection is identifiable.

QUESTION 2: Administrators are required to:
1. Note all administrator edits in a post, and email the poster advising them of the edit.
2. Admins-in-training may have their admin powers enabled and exercise routine powers under the supervision of a full admin, but administrator powers are disenabled when the training session is over.

Please Select One:
A. I accept both of the above requirements
B. I wish to exclude requirement #1
C. I wish to exclude requirement #2

QUESTION #3: Administrators may not:
1. Edit or delete posts or lock threads without permission of the originator unless the originator has engaged in conduct justifying an immediate ban
2. Delete smileys or change the style of the board without allowing members to express their opinion beforehand in the proper forum
3. Change the permissions of a poster at the poster's request or ban members for any reason other than those listed below

Please Select One:
A. I accept all three of the above prohibitions
B. I wish to exclude prohibition(s) [#] (please fill in the number of all prohibitions you wish to exclude)

If a majority of people vote for A, we will not visit individual exclusions. However, if a majority of people vote for B, we will accept only those numbers that have not been proposed for exclusion, and have a separate discussion + yes/not vote on each proposed exclusion, unless a majority objection is identifiable.

Voting will end on Wednesday at 1:00AM GMT

I just noticed one thing, though, not sure if that needs rephrasing or if it's meant to be included (sorry I didn't think of this earlier):
Quote:
3. Change the permissions of a poster at the poster's request or ban members for any reason other than those listed below
This would mean you can't opt out of seeing the Thinking of England forum after you've had permission before. Is that intended? Maybe you were too shocked at what you saw after first having thought you'd be fine? I don't really mind either way, I just couldn't imagine it was intended that way.

Truehobbit,

You're right. Thank you for catching that. But I can't change the ballot to that extent - by adding an exception to a rule - after people have started voting.

We'll have to do a quick amendment vote to allow that exception after this vote is done. I'll make a note in my file so that we don't forget about it.

Jn

edit: it's not just England - enablings and disenablings in the Jury Room and Archive are also done at poster request :)

I've drawn up a ballot which we'll run as soon as this one is finished. I can't run a vote to amend something that hasn't yet been approved.

This Vote is now closed. Sorry for closing it late but I forgot I would be in a classroom at midnight GMT and didn't want to close the vote early.

We have a substantial majority in favor of accepting all the Routine Powers provisions listed on the ballot.

Fourteen people voted in the three. Two absentee ballots were sent out in response to notices that members would be off the board throughout the voting period, and one absentee ballot was submitted. There were fifteen votes in total.

Question1:
A = 14
There was one objection to provision #9

Question 2:
A =11
C = 4 (excluding the provision about supervised practice)

Question 3:
A =13
There were two objections to provision #3.

Thank you for voting, everyone. I will move the Routine Powers in to the charter.

Admins can lock this thread.

Jn
