Dear Members of the Committee,

First of all, thank you all very much for persisting with this process. It took longer than we expected :).

Over the course of our five-week session, some members of the committee have had to leave (or must soon leave) for a variety of reasons. There have been other non-committee members who have followed our progress and routinely posted comments in the Business forum, and I have invited them to replace those who are known to be leaving.

Those who have left or leaving are: Estel, Ethel, Farawen, Faramond, Gimli, Leoba, Liddy. Those who have agreed to join are: Idylle, Imp, laureanna, and TORN. And Cerin - (agh! I left her out first time. Sorry, Cerin)

I would like to give opportunity at this point to any other members of the committee who would like to take a break from the process, and perhaps rejoin at a later date. I hope this offer will be taken as it is intended - there is no one I wish to see gone from the committee :) but I also know that the commitment to vote every few days is taxing. If you wish to take a break, this is the time to do it, while we are between points on the agenda, and I will not be hurt, and you will be welcome back at the next 'break' if you want to rejoin.

Because some of you have found it increasingly difficult to be online routinely, I would like to handle this rotation in the following manner. If you with to STAY on the committee, please send me a PM or email. On Friday (three days from now) I will give Prim the list of those who intend to be the committee for the next part of the agenda. (And Din will remain on the committee until he returns from vacation and either confirms this or tells me otherwise.)

An email about this topic will also go out for those of you who are not routinely on line.

Thanks once again for a stupendous job so far.

Jn

This is a good suggestion Jny to give those that need an opportunity for a break and bringing in new people that have followed with interest :)

I took my break over Easter so I'd like to stay on.

You're all on my list bwahahahahah!

Lord M: What's left to be done?

Dispute resolution is up next - arbitrations, juries, etc. As soon as I've got a complete list, I will send everyone the next chunk of agenda updated for things collected from these theads and the business forum.

The first thing we'll do is add anything necessary and approve the agenda.

But I don't intend to put up the thead until the weekend because meanwhile I have to finish summarizing the Admin Article for the members and figure out together with current admins where the summary and the full charter should be placed for member discussion and ratification ... I expect that will take me a bit of work. And I want you guys to review it for completeness before it is presented to the membership.

They can't answer until tomorrow. :D

(Prim has to enable them)

They can expect to be enabled at about 8 PM GMT on Friday. Departing members will have their permissions ended shortly after that.

Everyone on the committee will get an auto-email telling them they've been added to a "jury room" group. Clicking on the link in the email takes you to a description and a chance to unsubscribe. Please don't, or I will become surly as I manually add you back in.

Anyone who has access problems in the Jury Room after getting the group email--please PM me right away. Thanks.

The feeling of raw unbridled power is its own reward. :Wooper:

You'll find out.

(Actually, I am one of those tiresome people who likes organizing things. So it is its own reward, when things that need doing get done. When the new forums were open and tidy and full of threads--that was satisfying. :) )

(And thanks.)

I can post here alright, but I didn't get the group-e-mail! :scratch

Alandriel, that smiley is awesome! :D And very apt! :P ;)

And, damn, I missed the party in Ax's room! :rage:

EDIT: forget the first bit - got the mail just now, sorry about the false alarm! (E-mail isn't all that fast.)
