I would be happy with TORNs wording. I would have been happy with the original too. I'm just a happy guy today. :D

I just put a draft ballot up for review to vote on the creation of new office. When that ballot has been reviewed, I'll stick a poll on this thread and you can vote for one of the three options in the first post (or more, if more ideas are submitted by then).

That way the two votes will be efficiently simultaneous for those of you who have limited posting time.

Ok - I'm gone until late tonight, so I will open this poll Wednesday morning (EST) - that will be late morning or early afternoon for you Europeans.

Big hug for everyone here, btw. It is an ongoing pleasure to work with all of you, and I don't want that lost in the shuffle. :)

Thanks, Ax, likewise! :)

(You do sound like a happy guy! :D )

Voted, too.

Strangely, this historian doesn't have much of a problem with losing the originals. :D
While IS is right that true understanding needs seeing the original, I don't think these threads are of such historical importance that preserving them is necessary. And, who knows, some posters might agree to have theirs stand. Nin is right about the potential danger of summaries, but I guess if someone feels misrepresented, they'd let people know! :)

(Which reminds me: deleting the threads - does that mean fully deleting or putting them in deleted threads storage?)

I would think that in the case of a dispute thread, where the members involved don't say to save it, it should be truly deleted. Members will assume the thread can never come back to haunt them, and I think that ought to be true.

The Deleted Threads forum ought to be used in any case where the deletion might need to be undone, or if the thread might be evidence in a hearing. In other words, probably in any case except BikeRacks threads. They could be cleared out periodically, once it's obvious they won't be needed.

When I tidy up after my own adminning, I truly delete announcement posts, etc., as long as no one else has posted in them. If someone has, I unsticky it and lock it and let it drop—I don't want to delete other members' posts.

Good points, Prim, I agree! :)

(Though "tidy up after your adminning" sounds funny! :D )
