Actually, it's not clear that 100 votes plus 3 months received a super majority. First of all, that option alone did not. We did not offer an option that gave the addition restrictions without the 100+3 contingency, so we don't know what % of the voters wanted the additional restrictions and did not want the 100+3 but had no choice but to take both.

Prim is right. We can't re-interpret the vote afterwards so that the results suit our wishes. We have to bite the bullet and work harder on this to achieve the necessary consensus.

I'll put up a NEW discussion thread on this asap, so we can get it over and done with - we absolutely must have some clause there outlining the elibility criteria, even if they end up being negligible.

I'll post Article 6 into the complete Charter thread today and leave space for the clause to be added later.

Prim--

That's what I meant...the opening poll was set up in such a way that it was additive by design, and the result is that we are going with the one that acheived the needed supermajority.

The ToE poll was additive de facto, not de jure, but I don't see it as bending the rules to see the logic inherent there. More on the discussion thread I think unnecessary. :P

Ax, if we leave Option A in, and fail to get sufficient quorum for additional restrictions, we've de facto ratified something that the members did not in fact ratify.

You interpreted the ballot as additive, but we have no way of knowing whether others did. 12% of the vote was for neither A nor B, and we cannot interpret that as "no restrictions" but only as "not these two restrictions." It is the same with Option B - those people did not have a choice to vote against the A component of B and we have no way of knowing whether they would have considering that there was opposition expressed in the thread to eligibilities based on post count.

Jny--

I can live with an 3A/3B choice. I can live with a 3A up or down vote. But another 10 days of discussion...can't we just ask if anyone has a problem with a 3A/3B choice? And then let me work on them if they do? :D
