I am going to say go ahead with the ballot.
I do want to bring to light something that is a bit puzzling to me, and I am going to do it here for no other reason than my reaction to the first question on the ballot.
I was under the impression that we are here to construct a document for our protection, to help us govern ourselves, and to eventually allow us to open.
There are many instances throughout this document where I see references to Tolkien. Ballot questions asking us to choose a name or title for an office. Little things that tend to nudge this board in a direction or philosophy.
To me anything that enters this document that alludes to personal preferences, direction, etc. are outside the scope of this document.
I have no problem with people given their wishes or preferences as to where we are headed, but I think the proper place for discussion of these things is with a steering committee rather than with a convention committee.
We are here to construct a document of rules, not a philosophy.
I would want to see the discussion of such things as themes of this board done in greater conjuction with the membership and in a setting apart from the lawmaking committee.
As I said please go ahead with this vote, but I think we should keep in mind our purpose and focus on just that.

Sorry to say this when it's too late, but I had trouble choosing for number 3, because some points seemed to be mainly about how to elect mayor and deputy, while others were about other issues - for example, if A wins, we still won't know how to choose the deputy, and "the mayor will weigh in" seems just a general version of "the mayor can delegate" and won't answer the question of where the deputy comes from. So it was hard to give preferences. I should have seen and asked this earlier, sorry about that.

I wanted to state for the sake of transparency that I changed my initial vote on question 1. After all, I was the one that suggested Mayor in the first place, and I couldn't vote against it in the end. I also think that Thain might prove to be too obscure.

Voronwe, thanks for pointing that out. I started compiling the votes earlier, so perhaps that isn't the wisest thing to do (as I don't want to have to go through and check them all for changes now).
