TH, that was not an accusation and I understood you were not serious - no need to take it personally. I made the comment as a matter of record, because it is important to be clear on the ethical standards required.

It seems my earlier request got lost in the shuffle.

I noticed in the Bike Racks forum that someone using the Administrator I.D. pasted the new text over my original post, but the threadstarter in the index continues to be my i.d.

Wouldn't you'all prefer to have that thread deleted and replaced with a thread where the threadstarter's name is Administrator? I don't mind at all if you delete my thread. Really not! I think it would be more consistent and less cofusing if my name did not appear at all on that thread.

And the reason I'm bringing it up here is because I think this sticky is ready to go up! I really would prefer that the entire existing thread "How to Use the Jury Room" simply be deleted, and replaced by a new thread started by 'Administrator' and with the text from this thread in the first post. We will lost the question by Wilko and the comments following the arbitration, but those have already been summarized by Voronwe and placed in the Archive.

Once we get the sticky up in this room, the poor administrators who are holding the jury room volunteer names on their hard drives can move them into the second post.

Okay, I made it to Fed Ex and can now take care of this, Jn. I'll do the BikeRacks sticky thread as well, as long as I'm being "Administrator."

EXCELLENT!!!

Thank you, Prim.

If people feel odd about deleting a thread that has more than just me in it - like the Wilko Q&A, perhaps it can just be unsticked and locked and allowed to fall into oblivion.

Jn

edit: oh good, it's gone! so never mind that second suggestion.

NOBODY POST ANYTHING IN THAT THREAD UNTIL PRIM (OR ANOTHER ADMIN) HAS TIME TO LOAD THE VOLUNTEERS FOR JURY DUTY.

You know I saw this too today and went :scratch threadstarter Jny but only Administrator posts? I found it a rather appropriate glitch actually - so very appropriate since you've done so much work for the Jury room Jny :D

Anyways, it's gone now.. but at least there is a wee thank you note at the end (for which I would petition to add a  at the end of

Yes, I know, the Jury room is oh so proper and the post is oh so free of smileys.... but I can't help but think it would only be apropriate... or at least a smiley :)

Thank you, Alandriel. ;) I don't mind being thanked in the thread but it looked odd to have my name in the Index.

Prim here (hard to type in this funny costume). I did go ahead and delete the whole thread—probably should not have but I was afraid of confusing people (though of course it could simply have been retitled—not thinking too fast there. . . .)

In doing so I also deleted the introductory text for the Jury Room volunteer list. The list is there now, but if anything needs to be added just let me (Prim) know.

Going to go take off the cape and tights now. They're a bit snug.

pictures Prim peeling tights off and on ... tries to think of something else

The people who volunteered as Loremaster should have that in parentheses after their name.

And the mediator list can go into the Bike Racks thread now, too.

Otherwise AOK. :D

The one other thing that has to be changed about this forum is the marquee under the forum title. It should now read "For Hearings and Conventions" instead of arguments requiring arbitration/mediation.

Yes, Alandriel. Prim PM'd me about a rewrite of the Archive sticky and I'm going to post it right here for review.

I think that "Summaries of Past Hearings" might be the best description for the Archive because the actual threads will not go there, and Voronwe set a nice precedent by summarizing the whole case in the first entry there.

New Sticky:

WHAT IS THE ARCHIVE?

This is a Read Only Forum.

The threads in this forum contain discussions or decisions from Hearings which jurors wanted to preserve for future reference. You may refer to the threads in this forum at any time during jury duty, to see how previous jurors may have handled similar problems.

If you are a juror charged with creating a thread in this forum:

1. Contact an admin to enable your user i.d. for posting. A list of current admins and contact info is given below.

2. Please title the thread so that future jurors will know what the issue is about. For example: Juror Backed Out in Middle of Arbitration .... or Poster Sent Obscene Email to Juror ... do not title the thread with the names of members involved in the Hearing.

3. When you and your fellow jurors have decided what information from the Hearing should be preserved, either summarize the issue or cut and past text from the Hearing thread into your post. In all cases provide the dates of the Hearing, the reason for the Hearing, and the decision of the jury. Edit the names of the posters involved so that they are identified as poster #1, poster #2, witness #3, etc. to preserve their anonymity. Jurors may be identified by name. Be as thorough as you need to be for the summary to be understandable, because the original thread might be deleted at the request of those members involved.

4. Notify the admin when you are done.

Thank you for your service as a juror and for taking the time and effort to help future jurors by creating a thread in the Archive.

To email all admins: admins@board77.com [can only be used as a link if you are already enabled to post in this forum]

I'll fix the Jury Room description and do the Archive sticky as Administrator, if no one else gets to it before I'm back from church.

I think you'll need to change the email addy to use in that sticky since I believe the yahoo one is being used again. Right Prim?

Yes, it is. Laureanna got it working again :cheerleader: . We'll move back to the board77 email when we move. It's just that the admin email password has to chenge eight times a year at least, every time some admins leave office—and it's awkward to have to do that through Lidless.
