I've had some bad service, too, but that beats it easily!

 to Jny - go them 'em :D

Re: Frontpage statement

Unless I'm warped (and that's entirely possible after a weekend of getting baked at 32C in London) the Front Page Statement is the 'blurp' that should go up on http://www.board77.com since we can't have a front-page statement per se here on this free board. It can should of course be linked back to this board as well as giving a link to the charter.

Friends, I'm going to suggest the following numbering for remaining Articles so that we can start putting our work in Article form:
(red is done, blue is to-do)

Article 7: Binding Votes and Initiatives of the Membership
Article 8: Policy on Thread Deletions
Article 9: Policy on Forum Readability

Article 10: Goals
Article 11: Standing Committees
Article 12: Ratification and Amendments
¶1: Ratification of the Charter

¶2: Amendments to the Charter

Alandriel, I could be wrong but I believe I read somewhere that one of the current Rangers (laureanna??) has worked out that it is possible to get a front page statement on this board. I think I read it in the keeping in touch thread in the Rangers forum.

All I remember about a front page statement is this thread in Business, by MariaHobbit:
http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/viewtopic. ... um=board77

But I think that would only work if we didn't have anything else visible for non-registered visitors, and was more of an option for when we were closed.

From TH's link above
MariaHobbit wrote:
You can make a forum that is "public", and have a single thread with a single post to describe the site, and then lock the thread and lock the forum!
Then, when an unregistered person logs onto the site, they will be able to see what the site is about.
As TH said, that was only really an option as long as b77 was closed. Besides, even that (as above) would never really have ended up being a front-page statement per se (first page people would hit when hitting our url). All forums on this board will have to stay private as otherwise we loose the ability to customize how people can view/post etc. Customizing is only possible by setting all forums to PRIVATE but then customize each individual forum. I'll have a better think when I'm more awake later and open a new thread in here on the topic of frontpage. It's not exactly top urgent yet it still would be nice if we had one before opening.
(And also perhaps an automatic redirect to this board from the board77 dot come page which I'm sure Alatar can help us with)
:)

That wasn't it though, because that's the first time I've seen that post.

It must have been another post...but where? Where, is the question? And what were the details? :Q I can't recall, but someone did post, somewhere, having worked out how it's possible.

*Shrugs*

Sorry.

Completely useless wild goose chase.

Bump.

Friends, I've updated the first post with links to those issues already before us, and the issues we've not addressed yet laid out, and the completed issues moved to the bottom.

The first post has been updated again, and I believe we have now a thread for every issue that is before us.

I'm going to go through these threads tonight, folks, and look for potential compromises, and put into draft ballot form whatever can be got into that form.

Please let's get cracking and finish this. I'd like there to be a mesageboard life beyond the charter of b77.

Except for the name of the charter itself. :)

That's there. It's the very last item - Naming the Charter. :)

(I figured we'd finish writing it first.)

I just meant there is no thread for it yet. But I agree it should be the last thing we address. :)
