I'm for openness and transparency by default. So until and unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'm voting "yes" in every forum in which I actively participate. Including this one.

Voted yes immediately, without looking at the results or reading the posts. I don't want there to be a hint of secrecy or "hiding".

After browsing the forum, I didn't find anything that I think non-members couldn't read, except the few threads that discuss the invitation process and will most probably be deleted/archived anyway before we open.

Oddly I found loads of things that I would not be happy with non members seeing.

And considering the whole should we shouldn't we agree to delete posts before we open is not resolved, you should really consider worse case scenario before voteing.

whatever that is :P

Invite-related threads are going to be deleted, Din, and a few invite procedure threads archived if they don't name any names—that's not even under discussion, it's going to happen. People shouldn't vote to make Business unreadable because of those threads, because they won't be here when we open.

Nuts you say, hmmm, well the nicest nuts I know.

Lacemaker, the nail-filing backbencher, reads all above posts, thanks all for their wise and thoughtful comments and opinions. After some thought, I will vote yes. Hurray for democracy, nuts and bolts and all. :D :D

This nut has bolted and voted yes.....open the board. It has been a pet peeve of mine. If people are talking about me, I would much rather know what type of offence I have committed than having it discussed in a committee behind my back......

This was the vote for the business forum yet the poll result is somewhat misleading because so many people wished to change their vote. What is the final result on this?

Alandriel, I remember at least three people including myself who wished to change from "no" to "yes," and one who wished to change from "yes" to "no." Considering those changed votes would not change the outcome.

(If anyone reading this disagrees and can't post here to say so, please PM me or Alandriel. Thanks!)
