I need some help from the current admins.
When the articles being ratified right now are all complete, we will be trying to clean the place up and open the board at the same time. It might be a bit rushed, so I thought I would introduce this topic now and see how much of it we might be able to get done in advance. The topic is: what to do with all the convention threads.
Someone suggested that we have a History Forum, and that strikes me as a good idea, because we’ll want the Business Forum and the Jury Room clean for current business once the convention is over, but we also want an historical record of this process, as well as the early history that Alandriel already wrote and the summary of the invite process (or a few of those general threads?) that laureanna was going to write (?). These things should be in a form that is easy for a noob to access and follow if one were interested.
I went through the Jury Room and Business Room threads today and made a directory of all threads having to do with the creation of the charter, putting them in categories (like ‘pre-covention member discussion threads’) and then listing them in order according to the date they were opened, so that the directory is chronological within each category. There are little tiny messes here and there that need to be straightened out - some things in the Jury Room that are more appropriately left locked in the Business forum, shadows of threads that were moved, etc. And some of the actual heavy lifting can be done early for the things that are already ratified or will be ratified (we hope) by June 19.
We need to answer a couple questions before we can do this:
• We need a majority of current admins to agree that a new forum is needed
• We need to decide which big forum to put the subforum in
• We need a name for the forum
• When a thread is moved, does it’s navigation bar info change? i.e. will I have to repaste all the url’s in the directory? Seems logical that it would change, but I don’t know for sure.
Could we begin discussing this now, in the hopes of reaching a decision and beginning some of the heavy work before June 26?
