Where did all those additional aspects suddenly come from? :scratch

Question 1:
A. Yes

Question 2:
A. I agree to the amended text

Actually, I don't really know, as I don't undestand where this paragraph is coming from.

I vote "yes" in case that means: we haven't yet decided about an assistant, because we can't tell if one is necessary, so we will wait till the office-holder can tell, and then re-discuss the issue.

If it means: in an emergency in which the mayor has to be absent and needs an assistant he first has to ask the charter to be amended, I abstain from voting, because I don't know.

Question 3:
A. I agree to the inclusion of this clause

(I shouldn't mind him serve as mediator, though.)

Question 4:
A. I agree to the amended text

(I guess so - bit confusing, but I just haven't had time to check what that's all about.)

Question 5:

A. I agree to the amended text

Question 6:

A. I agree to the amended text, subject to Question 1

Question 7:
A. I agree to the inclusion of this clause

Hobby, I put all the amendments in here, too, for the parts of Article 4 and 5 that were already ratified, but worked out differently than we anticipated. They've been in the draft ballot from the beginning.

Jn

p.s. oh, I just saw you other comment as I started to record votes. Yes, it probably was you rather than laureanna - sorry, laureanna! I remembered that a second ranger had commented on it but obviously forgot which one.

edit again: (I should read before typing!!)

Now I see what you're referring to, Hobby. For the amendments, I showed the entire clause. The part that we're voting to approve is:

"the standing Committee for Charter Amendments will convene according to Article 7."

The deputy part was already ratified. We left blank the committee that would handle this when the article went for ratification because we didn't know then what it was. So we're adding it now.

People I apologize for this confusion. Now that I'm here, I will put in BLUE the phrase that is being added or changed so you can tell which part of the clause is being amended. Should have done that in the first place.

Thanks for catching the spelling error, Imp.

I'll correct that now, and also put all the texts through spell-check before loading them into the charter.

Ah, ok, I see - thanks, Jny! :)

(I didn't have time to read the draft ballot before the vote started, but I was pretty sure the points weren't in there when I first posted here - but maybe I was in haste, then, too.)

VOTING IS CLOSED.

Here are my unconfirmed results. Faramond will also count. I will not be able to post charter text until after lunch (dinner in Europe). Also, so many questions were asked/raised during the voting process that I would like to put some of the items from all four ballots in a new thread for a quick clafying discussion when I return. Jn

Time for some anti-groupthink! ;)

I think you missed Alatar's vote, Jn.

Since he voted B for Q1 and A for the rest, I have the following results:

Q1:

A=10
B=1

Q2 - 7

A=11
B=0
