Regarding keeping people out of the Thinking of England Forum, in the event that ToE members are required to give an explanation as to why they want to keep someone out of the forum, what should the standard of objection be?
Because they have reason to believe the person poses a danger to the ToE community

Because they aren't comfortable with the idea of that person posting in ToE

We're trying to get an idea of how people feel about this.

I have been going around in a small circle on this - because if I'm uncomfortable with a person, I have to assume others may be, and if enough people are uncomfortable with a person, that would represent a danger to the community because it would affect their participation in that community.

On the other hand, if I think a person presents a danger to the community, I would probably feel uncomfortable with that person.

See?

I'll try and make up my mind on this chicken-and-egg option.

Since starting these polls, we've formulated another option that may be easier for people to deal with, Imp. See what you think:

"... have a reasonable belief that the rules pertaining to posting on the ToE forum are likely to be broken by the petitioner based on past experience either here or elsewhere. Those rules include posting in a manner that ridicules, demeans or threatens other posters, or engaging in provocation or the spreading of sensitive information. Members should submit their objection by PMing a Ranger or emailing the Administrator account with a brief explanation."
