We are trying to get an idea of how people feel about this.

I presume the public statement is intended be be limited to the ToE forum rather than the board as a whole.

Assuming that Tosh is right, I say "allows". Just like the voting system for b77 in the (bad) old days.

Does a public statement in ToE simply registering the fact that an objection has been registered count as 'against' the petitioner?

Aye, I must say the way the question is worded is very guiding. Who could not find it in their heart to 'allow' freedom of expression?

But given that Cerin, as far as I know, strongly opposes public statements, especially those which the petitioning member cannot see or respond to - I have a hard time imagining that she deliberately used guiding wording, Fixer.

Oh, I had no idea who had written the wording. I am simply saying that, as written, you are going to get skewed results.

I apologize for the inadequacy of the wording. I admit to putting up the polls in great haste after a distressing discussion period yesterday. I can only ask that you accept that I wasn't trying for any result. We desperately need to know how members feel about the three principles that have prevented us from finding an integrated solution in committee.

explanations from ToE members or not

public statements or not'

standard for objecting

Tosh, yes and no to your first and second question.

Edit

Thank you, tp, that is greatly appreciated.

*hugs the Cerin*

Awwwww.... you're so cute when you're tired and stressed out. :) Drink a nice cuppa tea. Works for me.

Now, never letting it be said that I disagree with something without offering a solution I believe may be better, how about...

What should be the chosen method for persons to state their objection to a petitioning member to ToE?
Public statements made in ToE.
Private Messages to an individual responsible for tallying the results.
Other, please describe below.

If it makes you feel better Fixer, I believe I voted for "no public statements".

Either way, I'm sure the rejected person will have plenty of non-public statements made to him/her, if past experience is any indicator. Is a statement made in TOE, where the petitioner can't see it but dozens of others can, a private or public statement?

Laureanna:

The gist of committe discussion has been that statements made in posts in ToE were public in comparison to statements made only to Rangers, which are more public than no statements at all.

I think, me, that is, myself personally, that this site would be improved by nuking TOE.

It is my understanding that there are many, many sex-related sites on the internet! Those who enjoy such discussions will not lack opportunity, and the issue as far as B77 is concerned would vanish in a puff of pleasantly perfumed gas............or something.

Just sayin'. :D

No offense intended, je vous assure. Just a suggestion. :)
