Our glorious Tinwë has sent me what I need, so I will go plug in the actual correct settings.

I will also write a rough and dirty guide to groups/permissions. Eru, please edit/correct it as you choose, or replace it entirely (maybe you've already written one—I did just get back from dinner).

Okay, I have thrown something together. Please fix it as needed, or ask me to start over, or whatever.

I created four new forums in a new category, "Dummy Forums," just to show how the various usergroups work with each forum type.

I created four basic usergroups.

Then I put a thread in Tutorials explaining what it all means.

This is the most sustained intellectual effort I have made in a couple of weeks.* Meaning, look out. Fix what needs fixing! :D

*I spent this morning watching Independence Day. I also read half a Hornblower book.

Many thanks to you, too, Prim. I feel so special being the first one to play with the new tutorials.

I'll get to the new User Group practicum tomorrow. :D

Are any of you having trouble logging into the admin panel at the training board? I can't get into it. I keep having this roundabout cycle of being asked to reauthenticate my log in to get to the admin panel, but then I'm taken to a screen that looks like this:

http://photobucket.com/albums/y59/Eruna ... screen.jpg

It has a side menu like the admin panel would have, but it's basically a split screen asking me to log in. So when I try to log in to the admin panel, I get logged out completely. I log in again, try to log in to the admin screen and I'm logged out again...over and over and over again.

Why the hell can't I log in to the admin panel???

I signed up for the new board! Can somebody Adminerize me? Three days out and I’m already having withdrawal symptoms!

Eru, I'll go over now and try to figure out what's going on. And I'll admin tinwe while I'm there.

I logged on a few hours ago to admin laureanna and hobby and everything was OK.

Be right back.

Jn

Eru,

I had no trouble logging in to the board or the admin panel. I checked your level and your permissions and everything looks normal. Whatever is happening, it's not because something was accidentally changed. Maybe someone in the technical thread can explain it if it's a problem with your server.

tinwe, you're crowned. :)

Hi Eru!

I read all of the tutorials on the practice board. (Already figured out how to give myself a rank!) Should I create my own practice threads or split/edit/etc already existing ones? Or something else entirely?

Thanks!

Training board no longer exists, as of right now there is no practice board. Going to lock this thread and move it. :)
