Both Areanor and I will be finishing our terms at the end of this month, so based on the following:

Rodia : 01 Jan 05 : GMT+2 : Polish
Jnyusa : 15 Feb 05 : GMT-4 : English not until October
Holbytla : 09 Apr 05 : GMT-4 : English

I assume Rodia and Holby are next on the list. Just a heads up so they can familiarise themselves with the Ranger Handbook and the B77 Experiment Board.

I'm not sure if the Rangers or the Mayor should be malking this post but Mayoral duties are a bit up in the air right now, so I thought I'd mention it.

Whose job is it to contact Rodia and Holby?

Cheers,
Alatar

At the moment it's mine, Alatar. Thanks for the nudge. I wasn't thinking that far ahead.

Rodia and Holby have both agreed to serve terms from 1 October to 31 December. Thanks to both of them!

The next time I put on the Mayor suit, I'll make the necessary updates. Thanks again, Alatar, for the reminder.

Wondering if Rodia and Holby have started to familiarize themselves with the Admin panel?

Both are members on the Experiment board, and at least Holby has also posted there.

I do recommend some training before taking up the actual duty.

Eru,

I got to your PM finally. I'll be ready by Nov 1, too.

Oh g00dy - I get to serve with MariaHobbit? We were separated at birth - now we'll be reunited!!

Eru,

will you post the link here whenever you get the new website open? I promise this time I'll get right over there.

Mainly I'd just like to see what the admin panel looks like and practice some basic stuff before doing it for real.

I've got some stuff set up for you to do Jn.

Prim is going to set up user groups tomorrow. I hope it will allow you to see how to work that as well.

Post here once you've registered there so I can know to make you an admin.

Eru,

I've completed the training tutorials ... I think I told you about it in another thread ... anyway, I worked on Prim's user group tutorial today. When you have a chance, could you log in as Whipping Poster and check that WP is an admin and has access to the Jury Room?

Those are the levels/permissions I gave the poster and I want to make sure it worked.

Otherwise, I think I should be okay by now and ready to go on Tuesday. I've got my crib sheet on my desktop. :)

(and just in time, procrastinator that I am)

Jny I wouldn't get too worked up about things. There really isn't a lot going on. And if there is something you don't remember how to do or don't feel like it, there is always Tinwë.
Ooops I guess he won't be around then will he?
Looks like I need another lackey....errrr. assistant. ;)

Laugh it up funny boy. Just remember, come next Tuesday you won’t have tinwë to kick around anymore!

Kicks Butt!

... but has very bad aim and kicks own shins most of the time. :help:

Holby, I'll be a meek Ranger, I assure you, because when I see all those buttons on the left side of my screen my knees start to tremble.

Well Jny in the immortal words of Douglas Adams, "Don't Panic!"

You won't need to ever touch about 75% of them, and you will get used to seeing them.
Actually I hardly ever keep them open. I surf the site the way I always did. Whenever I need to do something I open the panel and close it when I am done.

I think we should standardize the Ranger sig pics.
Bikini clad babes all around. =:)

I think that's the idea! :D

You'll do fine, Jny! :)

And it's good to have practised and have the experiment place at hand even later - reduces the panic factor when doing something for real enormously! :D

(And the buttons on the right hand side ("edit" right next to "quote" etc) are more dangerous anyway! :P ;) )
