Dear b77ers (pronounced báy-zëë, it’s French, b****)

In honor of that timeless tradition which dates backs nearly an hour now, b77 (pronounced “buzzzzzâ€

Tinwe, it saddens me to see you drawn into this madness. I thought those shots you had last year were going to prevent this?

Tsk, tsk,
Lutefisk.

Oh, god,
Dead cod.

Oh, my,
Cured with lye.

Tsk, tsk,
Lutefisk.

But rumor has it that the booze in the Diner will kill 'ya

... just an observation for those souls determined to go out singing Broadway tunes ...

Announcement within Announcement

I am thinking the Festival should fall somewhere between Halloween and Thanksgiving, so as not to interfere with the costume party.

And, I don't want to step on the toes of the Awards Ceremony being planned, though the folks playing with that are welcome to use the Fisk Festival to distribute their awards and spare themselves the trouble of planning a party on top of figuring out the awards.

Are the awards going to be settled in the immediate future? O B77ers, reveal to me what is on your minds. :D

There's planning involved? I thought the party was already on. I even started composing my musical performance. It begins

I can feel it coming in the air tonight...

We have to pick a date. That's all. :)

It's just that there's other things being planned right now and I don't want to get in their way.

p.s. How do people feel about weekends versus week days?

A couple of days in Turf and the woman has already mastered spamming. :D

They make no difference to me, but I do know some people can only post on one or the other. Of course, some of those people might be just as happy to escape this particular festival.

I used to be an orange person, but as I have gotten older (and wiser  ) I find myself becoming more and more attached to the crunchy simplicity of apples, and less patient with the need to seduce the clothes off of an orange before I can enjoy it.

Let's ask Teremia when she's not here, because I don't think even the airtight panic room will be secure enough for her during this one. :(

Those stats that Holby temporarily put up seemed to indicate that most people do post from home, from around 6:00pm to 10:00pm EST. That's when the heaviest traffic is. So I'm thinking the prime time of the festival should be around 6:00pm when the US is just getting on line and the Europeans haven't gone to bed yet.

Um, but Prim and Eru - that's much earlier for you guys ... Prim you work from home so I know it's not as much of a problem for you, but how about Eru? That would be 5:00pm your time. Is it doable?

Or ... the really give the Europeans a break, we could do it over a weekend and start earlier.

Can the Lutefisk Festival be contained in a mere four hour period? Can anything contain the Lutefisk Festival? (I will not ask if anything can contain lutefisk.)

Conversely, can a mere mortal withstand four hours in the presence of the Lutekisk? Perhaps an appropriate time slot would be 9:52 PM - 10:01 PM.

Tinwë, have courage.

I find that a cast-iron container with walls at least half an inch thick and a carefully engineered screw-on lid of equal thickness can, in fact, easily contain lutefisk.

I've got some now, in fact. Wanna taste?

You know, I must confess, I’ve never tried lutefisk before. (In fact, I can’t say I’ve ever seen lutefisk before.) But I would, you know. Really. I mean, hell, I eat grits all the time, and that’s made from hominy corn that’s been soaked in lye. So really, what’s the big deal?

But, for safeties sake I must ask, is that cast iron vessel hermetically sealed?

:damnfunny:

Something tells me that the person comparing lutefisk to grits has failed to adequately apprehend the character of the former.

Right. Butter does not improve lutefisk.
