I was not volunteering to start a whole history of B77! Yikes, what was I thinking!??? I was suggesting some sort of a "what events led to the present day B77, from my point of view" type of a thread, with each person giving an interpretation of the Story. Now that I expound on it, it doesn't sound like a very good idea.

I actually think it is a good idea, laureanna. But maybe it would be more natural if something like that started after we open—if there seem to be a lot of questions about the past and what brought us all here.

I think that we should save, at the very least, this thread as an example of how it all worked back in the day.

Inviting John Paul II (was George W. Bush)

:D

Do you know, Tinwe, I agree. It's a frighteningly accurate portrayal of your own invite threa—

Ooops.

:Q :D you know.... part of me really says, YES - let's keep that one. Locked and burried and moved to the business forum where it hopefully would sink to near the bottom.
The other part of me goes :Q oh my!

It's a great thread - it really is and does reflect on something.. only that something I'd rather not reflect on at all. But now Tinwe has put that voice into my head .....

:help:

And what about this thread?

I think this thread should go in the History forum.

It shows the decision to close to invites (the reasons for it, and the fact that the decision was not made lightly), and then it discusses the decision to delete the forum.

I wonder if it'll be like those controlled implosions that show up on the news now and then...or more like http://www.manbottle.com/video/Exploding_Whale.htm

Well, I think it will have to wait until after the "What do we do with these threads" vote finishes, at 11 PM GMT Saturday, because some threads in this forum are included in that vote.

However, they will be out of here immediately after that, and I sincerely hope this place goes FOOM at three minutes after 11. It will take about ninety seconds—mark and delete all the threads, then go to the admin panel and delete the subforum.

There will be some further details—additional invite threads in storage in the Management forum, for example, that will also be deleted—but that's about it.

Back to work, Prim. . . . :help:

Edit: The exploding whale! Not Oregon's finest hour—what in Heaven's name were they thinking? Getting rid of a rotting whale carcass by blowing it up. . . . a nice big boom and then—stuff started raining down on everyone, stuff that smelled very very bad. . . . :LMAO:
