Hallo! Welcome to Board77. :)

I'm MaidenOfTheShieldarm (Mossy or Maiden for short) and I will be one half of your welcoming committee, along with Pippin4242 (Pips). Over the next week and a half we'll be having lots of opening festivities, with the big official ceremony on 6 July. Please feel free to join the parties! The schedule of events will be posted as soon as it actually exists. :) ;)

We're very excited to have the board open and to welcome you all in. We look forward to greeting old friends and meeting the newcomers. Come on in, make yourself comfy, and introduce yourself here in this thread!

:cheers [ img ]

Can I use this thread to welcome vynaca and tinsel? I don't feel like I know them well enough to start a thread...plus *E* would probably kill me if I start vyn's thread. :P

Just wanted you gal's to know we've noticed you! :D

edit: and bornilion as well although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting this person.

Hello, all! I am bornilon, just in from Across the Sea. Very glad to find the doors open and the welcome mat spread-- I've been eagerly awaiting Opening Day, and want to compliment you on the job you've all done so far! While I'm not a prolific poster, I am a pretty obsessive reader and so have had occasion to miss many of you in recent months. I look forward to poking about and finding out just what you've all been doing with yourselves, holed up in here all this time!

:cheers

bornilon, I'm sure that you will find plenty to read here. :) There's a prize for the first new person to read all the "Threads of Historical Interest."

Welcome, Bornilon! The first n00b in the thread. :Q Glad you decided to pop over. You'll have plenty to read I'm sure!

There's a price for the n00b? How much are they? Or do they need to pay us? For the fund for our own site, perhaps? :suspicious: :P

See how silly you look now. :)

Hopefully our new members will get a chance to stop by our Front Page. I don't dare link to our full Charter (okay, so we don't really know whether we are calling it a Charter, or what), but if you click on the Member's Rights and Responsibilities link on the front page, it will take you to a nice short summary. Once you've had an opportunity to poke around for a bit, we are going to look forward to your imput on our governing procedures. After all, being a democratically governed internet community means that the voice of every one who speaks up gets heard.

Ath - thanks for the choccie!

Voronwë, I've had a quick look at the ToHI forum; dunno if I'll be winning any prizes, but at least it's given me a clue as to why the Grand Opening took so long! Of course, I understand the reasons for so much deliberation, and already have confidence it will prove not to have been in vain.

Maiden - I've never had a price on my head before :Q but I am hoping to be some kind of contributor here...so if that's what it takes... :D

Eruname - lurking is my specialty, you know! :)

Again, congratulations to all for your hard work in laying these sturdy foundations; I look forward to watching the Board grow tall and strong as Minas Tirith upon them.

I agree. What a charming introduction. Hello bornilon and I hope you enjoy yourself here. Lurking is an honourable occupation but it will be nice to hear your voice too.

Hi fishy. I haven't spoken to you before but welcome to this place. If you are going exploring take plenty of lembas, a compass and a torch with some spare batteries. See you in a month or two but if you get lost just scream and we'll send someone to look for you.
