Excellent Jude.

Its your turn. :toast:

No...that's the bit in Sindarin... ;)

I'm looking for the first and last words in Quenya, written in Tengwar... :D

Nope.

I am naturally referring to the Movie "Anduril" :D

Hint: The designers put the two runes at the beginning and end of the inscription as a kind of header and footer, kind of like having Alpha and Omega framing a quotation.

Is this a movie question or a Tolkien question or both?

 well, I guess it's both....sort of....

Okay, maybe it's a movie question, but I didn't realize it until after I set it :P

Does it matter? I'll set a different one if it does, but I thought we were allowed to look things up in this thread so it shouldn't be too hard to find the answer

Well according to my copy of Weapons and Warfare:

"The inscription was Quenya, in the runes of Eregion". It states that the transcription reads: "Anar. Nanye Anduril i ne Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i moli Mordoreo. Isil"

In other words, what you're looking for is "Sun" and "Moon"?

However, they weren't written in Tengwar.

Oh, bother, you're quite right, Al... they were written in Angerthas Eregion...my eye must have slipped to the line above about the inscription on the pommel, which was in Tengwar. :blackeye:

Well done for spotting my deliberate mistake! :D

Your turn.
