Oh wow. I went to bed and then to Latin class and already there are two pages. This is so exciting!!!!
I LOVE musicals. When I was little I watched The Sound of Music, the King and I, all of those classic Rogers and Hammerstein shows, all the time. I have no clue what my first show was. I suspect it might have been Dreamgirls or Phantom. We had to leave Phantom, though, because I was 7 and it scared the bejeesus out of me.
My favourite shows. . .
Wicked. It may not be the best show, but it speaks me. Defying Gravity made me cry both times I've seen it in the theatre, and a few times on the OCR. If there were a soundtrack to my life, at least five songs from Wicked would be one it. Elphaba is my ultimate dream role.
Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom
. The phantom is an incredible character and I love the music. Prettyinpink and I are taking a friend to see it for his birthday this month because we both walked out on it when we were seven because it scared us. I can't wait!
42nd Street. Fond memories. It was my senior show. I can't listen to it now, but I had so much fun doing it.
Jesus Christ, Superstar. It may be silly, but I LOVE this show. It's awesome.
The Lion King (Broadway). Easily the most visually spectacular show I have ever seen. I just sat there like this:
. The music is incredible and I love the African songs, but the visuals alone make this an incredible show.
I'm also a huge fan of Spamalot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Avenue Q (Yay, Ax! I love your sig.
), Anything Goes, Beauty and the Beast, and Sweeney Todd. I could write paragraphs for these, too, but I won't because a) I'm sure you'd all get sick of it and b) I have to finish my Anth homework in fifteen minutes.
(We Will Rock you is EVIL! EVIL I say! Worst musical I've ever seen. And just for the record, I did not see it by choice.)
TM, I'm really excited for Rent: The Movie, too. I never saw the show, and it's such a phenomenon . . . and to see Idina Menzel in the role should be awesome. I'm still sad that I didn't get to see her and Kristin Chenoweth in Wicked.
Will respond better later when I don't have Anthro looming over my head.
