Hopefully she'll decide that's more than enough. It's too hot outside for doggies!
Did I ever tell you guys that I found out the story behind Poppy our community cat? Apparently, his name is actually Scratch. He belongs to a lady whose boyfriend/husband died. Scratch was more this guy's cat, and, after the guy died, Scratch decided he wanted to live outside. Another guy, Tom, has taken him in, though he also lets him wander around. So Scratch is not exactly a stray, which makes me happy, though he is looking pretty skinny and clearly had some kind of altercation with something—he's missing some fur on his side (no visible wounds, though). But he seems happy enough, and whenever he shows up (which is on the regular), he makes me happy. I give him kitty treats*, and he hangs out on my patio.
*I put out some water a couple of times. He's mostly uninterested. There is a creek and a pond in the complex, so I think he gets his fill from those sources. There's also plenty of shade and shelter, so he's doing okay for himself. Tom said he feeds him, but I don't know.
