I remember standing at the train station somewhere in Colorado, in that "lovely" dry heat, as my son remarked that you can just feel your life being sucked out of you through every skin pore.

He told me yesterday that it was not too bad in Chicago, just under 30F. I felt a little evil for telling him it was 75F here.

Yes! And there is no dry heat here in Ohio. It's all muggy heat.

It's the same in Missouri. No dry heat, only steamy sauna style heat.

That would be handy. You could watch the forecasts, and if it actually does get cold there, you could throw some plastic over them and see how they do. Maybe tomatoes would be perennial if they could?

The Bay Area winter. Two weeks of over 70, a week of low sixties, and now a freeze warning.

I don't think it's going to survive. It's got a couple shoots with green leaves, but they don't look too healthy.

Sometimes you can put container full of hot water out next to the plant and cover them both, and that'll be just enough heat to keep the tissues from freezing.

Ah, it appears I forgot to include the hail.

Maria, thanks. I was going to use your advice on my agave, which really should be covered. But the hail beat me to it

On the other hand, we have a warm front coming in that's bringing a ton of rain with it. From below freezing to double digits in one day - the rain combined with the melting snow could make it crazy.

Remember the pictures of the flooding I posted last year?

So I heard from my niece that Dublin had a huge snowstorm and everything is shut down. To here, it's just like home, but for everyone else it's a major trauma.

Here's a snow dog she built:

What a cute doggie! Why is it sad?

We are having a normal spring! That means that I need an umbrella and sunglasses to leave home. Unfortunately, it probably won't be enough to stop the drought.

Very brave or very foolish person takes advantage of the snow in Edinburgh and skis some of its landmarks - including the Crags!

In all the time I lived in Edinburgh, we never had any accumulation of snow that came even close to this. Too bad I missed this.

No word from Alatar yet - is he stranded in England?

What? Why? That's not right. And why are we getting an ice storm tonight? I'm sick of winter. :(

Indeed. :suspicious:

Yesterday it was about 47F (I think, maybe lower) and sunny. Then I walked out of work last night at 11pm to about 2-3 inches of snow. Today is supposed to be what you posted—about 55F with thunderstorms tonight.

:help:
