Late March looks good for me - Easter vacation. I'll plan my eventual trip to Spain around this date then. :)

just checked prices at AerLingus for Munich-Dublin.

march 30th/April 1st the flight would be 230 EUR.

23/25 march it's 150 EUR.

But the friday flight is a rather late one, I'd arrive at 21.30 ....

ah, bah... count me in, if it's the 23rd.

(and I'm going to check some more flight dates this week)

 hubby said it's okay... :D

Okay, if you say 23/25th of march I'll try to book it too and to plan ahead that the orcs are chez their dad and me not in Berlin (I should have an exchange some time this year).

Which airport?

Great news Nin!! You want to be looking for flights into Shannon Airport. If you can get to Heathrow or Stanstead there are regular cheap flights to Shannon.

I can eventually get Stanstead... Is Shannon a Dublin airport?

I could also fly to Belfast...this would in fact be easiest. It looks quite difficult for flights for me. :(

How about not coming alone?

Nin, try to avoid flying to Dublin or Belfast unless you can get a connecting flight to Shannon. Rougly speaking, Belfast is in the North of the Country, Dublin is in the East and Shannon is in the West.

Flying into Shannon means you're 5 minutes from the m00t. Dublin is a 3 Hour train Journey away, Belfast more like 8 hours away.

Incidentally, I'm moving this thread to Turf and leavinga shadow here as some of the attendees can't see this forum and most of the discussion seems to be happening here!

Oh, and of course you need not come alone!

Nin, if Din and I are trekking all the way over to Ireland for the weekend, the least you can do is come along accompanied!

We'll see how tight money is and how bad flights are. :D

I found the most convenient flights for me.

Air Berlin - Nuremberg to London/Stansted 23.3.06
arriving at Stansted at 6.55 in the morning.

RyanAir Stansted to Shannon
either leaving Stansted at 8.15 AM or 18.05 PM
arriving Shannon at 9.40 AM or 19.30 PM
looks very good to me.

back on sunday 25th
RyanAir Shannon to Stansted at 16.20 PM, arriving at 17.45 PM
(or an earlier flight - costs are the same)
on with
Air Berlin Stansted to London departure 21.35 PM.

I just hope the terminals for Air Berlin and Ryan Air aren't that far apart :D and there won't be any delays........

I'll go out on Monday to book that.
So - count me in.

NIN, try to get to Stansted

W00t! First booking!

Don't worry Areanor, nothing is too far apart in Stanstead :)

Alatar...if the dates are definite, you might want to change the title of the thread and the first post to reflect that! That way, people will know it is "safe" to book flights!

Has anyone thought about accomodation yet?

And is there a thread about this on HoF anbd/or ToB?

Yes I know... I need to get the finger out. It's not MY fault everyone is on different boards and I have to duplicate the info into three different locations every time there's a change. Grrrrr...

I'll tidy up all three threads in the next day or so.

Yeah, but you're the one who dreamed up the Ireland Moot to begin with, so now you have to take the responsibility! ;)

Just update the title and first post and bump the threads! Easy Peasy.

:D

will have to see about convenient flights. not sure there's a direct flight into Shannon though. Most flights either go to england or dublin

I'll look around. My problem is that I finish work friday evening at 5.15 p.m and even if it's a week-end without the orcs have to bring them to their dad's place at 6.30 p.m., so I can't take an early flight, be it to Ireland or to London. :(
