I figured it would give us stats, but... they look inaccurate. To say the least. :suspicious:

Yes, very inaccurate.

I've cried a thousand oceans, and I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home.

Well, I guess it would depend on what the group statistics are supposed to be, but...we've all listened to more than that this week.

Yeah, they might just go with lowest common denominators.

What sort of numbers were we expecting? I checked a group with 1500 members who I know have a lot of the same tastes and their top weekly artist had 330 plays. Another group with 41,000 members who I don't know anything about, their top artist was 4800 plays. We have 5 members so far with the top artist being 4 plays. I don't know what that means, just giving examples. :P

Here's what the FAQ says:
Quote:
The way that overall charts work is that every “1” will represent a group member. For example, say there are 3 people in a group who listened to a certain artist in the last week, it’ll say “3” in the charts and this will mean that 3 members listened to that artist, and not the number of times that the artist was played by all group members.

The “unique to this group” charts which you can choose to view on a group’s page emphasise what is unique about the music taste of that group's members, compared to the listening habits of all other Last.fm users.

This means that these charts don’t just show you what a group’s members listen to like the overall group charts do, but what is special about their listening habits in comparison to what other users on Last.fm listen to (considering the average listener’s behaviour):
For example if the members of a group listen to artist A much more often than others do, artist A will be more unique to their group as this will be special to their listening habits, compared to everyone else’s; if they listen to Artist B, but everyone else also listens to artist B a lot, then this will be less special and artist B will be less unique to their group.
Like most reading material I get, this is taking a minute to sink in. :LMAO: But I think I got it. So, who is the one group member to hold out on Evanescence and Coldplay this week? I know it wasn't me! ;)

And clicking on the unique thing gives us no actual numbers yet, but I don't doubt the artists listed make our charts unique. There's Christian music, indie acts like CITA and Caleb, then more 90's stuff like Eiffel65. This is so neat, I never would have thought up things like this.

Could be me, I usually do listen to both of those but I haven't been in the mood for light music this week.

Lots of heavy metal. Lots of it.

It's certainly lighter than I've been in the mood for this whole frakking week. :P :LMAO:

Or maybe I just listen to them when I'm depressed and not depressed+stressed.

I'll have to look into that.

You really should, cuz their music is about pain and suicidal thoughts and dead baby sisters, so if that's light and fluffy... :uhoh:

Never said it was my happy music! Just that it's not what I want when I feel like I'm going to smack the next person who asks me how I'm doing because it should be bloody obvious that I need sleep and a few weeks to myself.

:suspicious:

So yeah. Lots of Nine Inch Nails and Adema with some misc thrown in there, but it's not getting scrobbled for some reason.

Not happy music, but if it's not dark enough for ye, I might suggest hugging a tree... with a sweater on it!

So I has a question: what are people's most depressing songs? Ones that get you down, make you cry and feel forlorn. Tori Amos' "Me and A Gun" is one I have to tread very lightly on. Hanson's "Yearbook" was always very haunting to me. "Hazard" by Richard Marx. "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam of course. Largely because of the video, but more so since I read about the true story it's based on. Caleb Kane, I certainly listen to when I'm depressed, but it doesn't really inspire depression in me. Whether it's a song you try not to play often or not, which ones make you feel kind of hopeless and have to take a minute to let sink in before you're off to the next track?

I can't really say that any song depresses me on it's own.

It's a combination of my mood when I hear the song, the situations I can associate with the lyrics and what is going on in my mind at the time.

So I guess my answer is none. :suspicious: :LMAO:

Lali, that sounds like a plan if you ask me. :D

Last won't scrobble L'Espirit d'Escalier by Jet! I know it's ridiculously short, but I love that song! :bawl:

I passed the 75,000 song mark this week. I may have a problem...
