Don't worry. The worst that can happen is you'll spend three months fighting fires and watching people call for your head on a plate.

I think it's Holby's fault you didn't get added. :salmon:

If you ask I'm sure it can be arranged. ;)

I've just seen that we have 4 Rangers in the European timezones and just one in an NA timezone. Considering the majority of our members are in North America, I'd say it's pretty important to have another ranger from North America as we'll be all asleep just as North America's evening postings start up. Jude and Lali are due to reenter the Ranger pool in a few days. I'm willing to wait until next term so that one of them could step in now if they're willing?

I think laureanna or The Watcher would get priority. laureanna's never been Rangered and Watcher's been resting longer.

laureanna should be next. The Watcher's just at the bottom because she asked to be removed and then changed her mind.

We could get someone new, but frankly I think it would be a good idea for Eru to stay on, since vison, tosh, and farawen have never been Rangers before. River and I figured out stuff pretty quickly, but I still had to ask Holby for help on a lot of things and I thought it was helpful having someone who knew what they were doing.

Honestly, I didn't think we had that many problems with mostly NA rangers this term, did we? I think it's more important that the Ranger responds in a timely manner when they do get online.

Nope. That's because all teh dramaz happened whilst the European lot were asleep for the most part. :P

There shouldn't be any drama in the next three months considering the special circumstances, so I guess it doesn't entirely matter. Though I know nothing about the new board software either fyi. ;)

That's why I'm afraid of Rangering on the new board.

....

When did I ranger last anyway? Have I rangered since I've been in Gib? I honestly can't remember

Rumor has it the new board is easier. I found some bits obnoxious but I got used to it. I can't make a comparison though because this was my first Ranger term ever and the transition to the new board and new server happened on the previous team's watch.

The new board is easier in most ways than the old board. If you can figure out how to post on a messageboard, embed Youtube videos, attach pictures, and all of that, you can figure out the new software. :) Besides, Jude and Alatar are always available if need be, and you can ask those of us who have had a turn already, too.

Actually I rangered back in 05. I left a few days short of my term due to stuff I'd really rather not remember, but I think I'm tougher now, or more jaded, or, like, whatever. You guys decide if you want me to serve now or later. I'm not particular.

Time for me to get out my old belly dancing outfit, I see. I can do the dances with the seven veils, but honestly, you probably don't want to see me do it. :P

I'm on the West Coast, but generally all the flame wars happen while I'm at work, blissfully perusing website like FEMA, Caltrans, and Google Maps. I'm not allowed to peek at work, and most of you have taken your marbles and gone home by the time I get there. But that's only Monday thru Thursday. On Friday-Saturday-Sunday I'm either hanging around here all day, or out doing stuff. If I'm rangering, I'll try to pop in more threads, more regularly.

Essentially this job should be about changing ranks, occasionally splitting posts and that's pretty much it. The software is fairly well mapped out at this point, and there are enough of us around that can help out in a pinch. I wouldn't worry about any of this.

The fact that I didn't know anything about the software or how to run the board intimidated me a lot at first. Actually it still sometimes does. :P But it's really pretty self-explanatory and if I ever had any questions there was always someone to ask. :) Even when things were complicated, like figuring out how to limit posting rights which hadn't been done in ages, I asked Voronwe and got help that way. So it's not a big deal. :)

Yes. Maybe if the entire Ranger team threatened to do a belly dance every time the fires went up we'd have less drama. I don't think holby, Rebecca or I know how to belly dance. It would have been horrible. I'm sure once would have been enough and everyone would have agreed to simmer down if only to spare themselves. :LMAO:

Okay, laureanna and I are switching. She'll do her Ranger stint now and I'll take the next open position. This way we won't be leaving vison all on her lonesome in the NA timezones.
