Despite being a maths geek by heart, over the years I have come to appreciate the English language - to the point of writing a full length (crappy) thriller.

It made me wonder about our weird language from a logical point of view, such as why "monosyllabic" has five syllables, why "abbreviation" is such a long word, why "dyslexia" is so difficult to spell, and why "lisp" is probably the cruellest word in the entire dictionary..

But my interests merged when I found out that "eleven plus two" is an anagram of "twelve plus one". So cool and a synthesis of my interests I almost had a good time.

I would try to match the synthesis of numbers and words but I'd fail, so I'll just smile in empathetic, quiet enjoyment.

:) <--empathetic smile of quite enjoyment.

How about the mathematical relationship that shows that Halloween is equal to Christmas?

31 Oct = 25 Dec

I don't quite follow. Care to explain? The answer is probably staring me in the face but it is my experience that I shouldn't think too hard this late at night. :P

31 in Octal = 3 x 8 + 1 = 25 in Decimal

What always fascinates me is the circumstances behind the discovery of such gems as Liddy's anagram. Oh the power of the unfocussed mind!

As a dyslexic, the word dyslexia is actually incredably easy to spell, in fact its one of the easiest in the language, almost as if if by design.

Which when you think about it is deeply ironic.

:LMAO:

Eleven and two and twelve and one are anagrams in Japanese too. And they are pretty close in French and German.
What does Chomsky say about it?
