Despite being a maths geek by heart, over the years I have come to appreciate the English language - to the point of writing a full length (crappy) thriller.
It made me wonder about our weird language from a logical point of view, such as why "monosyllabic" has five syllables, why "abbreviation" is such a long word, why "dyslexia" is so difficult to spell, and why "lisp" is probably the cruellest word in the entire dictionary..
But my interests merged when I found out that "eleven plus two" is an anagram of "twelve plus one". So cool and a synthesis of my interests I almost had a good time.
