I'm thinking of melting down half of the Jingle jelly with water soon to use as a shower gel instead. Have any of you done that yet? If there's anything I have to look out for or you have any interesting tips, let me know. I was also thinking of adding something like milk or yoghurt, which could be interesting. What do you think?

What is the jingle jelly again, scentwise? I'd keep it in the fridge then if you add any milk or yogurt to it.

Hm, I can't pinpoint the scent. It's like those baths you can take when you've got a cold, a bit like menthol.

My mom made some of hers into shower gels...I'm thinking she just put them in the blender with some water? I've heard of people doing that and adding sugar to it to make a scrub, too.

Sorry, not sure on the details for either, though. :P

That's all right, I've never had more details even from people who've done it before. I'll let you know what I decide to do with it and perhaps I'll try it this weekend.

I melted the jelly today, but it wasn't enough water so that I now have jelly in a bottle. :P I shall have to add some more tomorrow.

Does anyone know what happened to Lush's peppermint scalp treatment? I tried to find it at my local Lush and they do not seem to carry it anymore. I hope it's not discontinued as it was absolutely perfect for my scalp. It came in a black container.

I see on the Lush Canada website they have snake oil. Hopefully my store has it and I can try that.

Pretty sure you mean Recon, and it was discontinued over a year ago. They're planning on coming out with a new one called Hair Doctor that will be comparable, but they've been saying that for almost a year now, so who knows when it will actually come out.

But until then, try washing your hair with Soak and Float or Squeaky Green shampoo bars. They're both really nice for the scalp and seem to work well for a lot of people. :)

Yeah, people that tried it generally liked it, but just about no one bought it. My store had some and maybe sold 1-2 pots before we pulled it off the shelves and gave them away.

I've never tried Snake Oil. Squeaky Green is pretty helpful and easier to get, so it'd be worth trying I'd imagine. :)

I found it very difficult to get Snake Oil on my scalp. And it certainly didn't smell good.

Soak and Float didn't work for me. My dandruff got worse!

Soak and Float didn't work for me either, which was unfortunate since it smelled terrible! :help: I thought that the effectiveness would make up for the potency of its scent, but that did not turn out to be true. I would love to try something that really works, and hopefully something with a slightly better or more innocent scent.

It's been about three weeks or so since I was in LUSH here last. I'm starting to get the jitters. Going to break soon! :Q

:P

Was trying to hold out until the new line of Vanilla products came out, but I just might have to break down and go in mid-next week when I have money again. :P

Soooo want to get the vanillary perfume and bottled lotion when they come out. Should be wonderful.

edit just to say, looking at the UK site now, I see they have released The Hair Doctor here. ;) Dunno about NA, though. There are reviews at both ends of the spectrum, though the majority is leaning towards 4/5 stars.

Just noticed today that they posted the discon list for the US this spring:

- Amazonian massage bar
- Nutts massage bar
- English Countryside bath bomb
- Youki - Hi bath bomb
- Ooh La La soap
- Mud Flats soap
- Hot Milk bubble bar
- Up the Wooden Hill emotibomb
- Skinny Dip buttercream
- Emperor of Ice Cream buttercream
- Sonic Death Monkey shower gel
- Go Green body spray

http://forum.lush.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=118951" target="_blank

Frankly, some of those don't suprise me at all. Amazonian didn't have much scent (in the store anyway) and very few people bought it (again, in the store is all I know about :P ). Nutts smelled gross, IMO. It melted way too fast, too, we had to be careful because some of the store lights would cause them all to melt or get gooey. I thought English Countryside smelled gross, too. None of the emotibombs smelled good to me. I used one and hated it. I think we sold maybe 2 Go Green body sprays the whole year I worked there. :P Such a weird product. Mud Flats looked gross, so it didn't sell well. Not my kind of scent, but it certainly wasn't popular.

I'll miss the 2 buttercreams. Mostly because I like how moisturizing they are. :P I like Skinny Dip though. I also liked Youki - Hi bath bomb, but I overdosed on Flying Fox and don't like it as much as I used to.

So all in all, none that I'd really be that fussed to lose. :)

Who hasn't bought any Lush in months. And then it was only because it was an extremely limited product that they brought back for a limited time.

So :P

No more Ooh La La? That was the last decent soap Lush had left. I went and looked at their soap selection now and I don't like a single one of them. I'm actually getting quite disappointed with Lush now. I still love Enzymion, Angels on Bare Skin, Flying Fox and The Olive Branch and now love Yummy Yummy Yummy, but I don't really find anything to get excited about when it comes to Lush. Any of the new stuff they're putting out just doesn't appeal to me and they've taken away the best stuff. The Retro Line, at least with the soaps, looks better than the current in-store line.

I've been making my own sugar scrubs and they make my skin way softer than anything from Lush. I'm kinda meh about them, myself.

Because you can still have Heavenly Bodies, which smells the same. :D

Like Eru, I have also been less interested in Lush lately. Nothing to get really excited about once I actually get to touch/smell new products in the shop. I am beginning to wander over to other brands. :Q Luckily, I still have my Lush favourites though.
