That's why you should work at a Lush store! Although, we both had pretty large stashes before. But, seriously, I got Ultralight x2, Enzymion, Afterlife, Cosmetic Lad, Almond Kisses, and Skin Drink for free. I obviously shared most of those, but still. During a hair care training (which I went to 2 of them while I worked there), you get a free shampoo (I took Big), 100mL conditioner, hair gel, and shampoo puck. And when the first manager was fired, the new management gave the people she liked and who were helpful lots of free stuff. So, ;) I got things like 500mL Tramp, Sonic Death Monkey, and Flying Fox, Karma powder, Coconut powder, Daddy-O, Dreamwash x2, Coconut and Almond Smoothie, Razoratium, Prince, and probably more. At pretty much every staff meeting (1-2 times a month) we also got some free goodie.

Which is why I haven't bought any Lush since I quit working there. Not only do I not get 1/2 off....I don't get free stuff any more. I went in to say hi today and was severely tempted to say I'd come back. It wasn't a great job or very high paying, but still..... :salmon:

I am surprised no one talked about this here when it happened. It was on the news.

Oh yeah, my store did that when I still worked there.

I did not participate. :P

edit: This article is about my store. We got in trouble from the mall, as did most Lush stores in malls.

The stores around here had their employees wear underwear under their aprons to prevent any action being taken. Cops were dispersed to ensure that didn't happen.

Spoil sports. :rage:

Our store wore nothing but the aprons. Which is why a grand total of 2 people participated. :P

If I had known about this event beforehand I would have been at the nearest store ogling. :P
The salesperson could have sold me gallons of Happy Hippy. Well provided they were of the female persuasion.

I'm sure they'll be doing something like this again- they did it once before, too.

Moving on to bubble bars:

[ img ]

Let's see, there's a Temple of Truth in the middle, surrounded by 3 Christmas Kisses from last year, 1/2 of a Candy Cane, and a Holiday. I don't remember what the green one was from last year? Rebecca?

I'm not much of a bubble bar person. I prefer bombs or melts.

Speaking of melts, here they are:

[ img ]

That's a Dreamtime, and 2/3 of a You've Been Mangoed. Funny story: when we were visiting Rebecca in August, we arrived late at night, and went straight to the Lush store, where she was working, just to get the key to her home. Ellie talked me into buying the 2 melts. We went back to Rebecca's, let ourselves in and eventually, left in the morning to go to Virginia Beach.

Amazingly, the melts did not melt in the heat at the beach. We brought them home, and I used 1/3 of the You've Been Mangoed. Last weekend, we went to visit Rebecca again, and Ellie tried to talk me into buying melts again!! I refused, and reminded her that I did buy some and she has yet to use any.

See, I buy it for them!! Then they don't use it...so I claim it!!

Christmas boxes from 2007:

The red one with stars is sooo pretty! I keep my bath bombs in it.

The one on the left is still unopened. It's a Christmas Island, with beach-themed items. It's got a Seanik, Ocean Salt, a Sandstone, a small Happy Hippy and a Buffy.

Do the bath melts just melt into the water or do you also get bubbles from them? I haven't had any so far and always wondered. I've got some bits of Humango from a friend that contains pieces of You've Been Mangoed, so I am looking forward to trying that sometime. Today I'll shower with Champagne Snow Showers though, lots of it. :Wooper: Love the stuff.

Rebecca: I don't think I'd ever bother applying to work at a Lush store. For one, I bet they get loads of applications. Also, I don't have a bubbly personality or am good at selling things.

Silwen, they just melt slowly. Sometimes they leave a trail of color in the water that's pretty, but that's it, other than softening the water.

Eru, yeah, that makes sense. But for what it's worth, I never thought I'd be good at that. Applying there was so spur of the moment (I came in to get a Sweet Japanese Girl and was hired the next day!) that if I'd thought about it I probably wouldn't have done it. The day of the interview they made us go out onto the sales floor and practice and I really wondered what I thought I was doing. :P But since then I've discovered that I'm actually quite good at customer service. :P

The melts then sounds exactly like the kind of thing that would be good for dry skin. I'll have to try some next time. I've had an eye on You've Been Mangoed for some time now.

I've almost completely given up on Skin Nanny now. It is way too rich to be used regularly. I think I will use it on my hands instead of my face most of the time because otherwise I am extremely shiny in the face, no matter how little I use. I felt awful wearing it yesterday again. I shall stick to Skin Drink as before.

I saw the title of this thread and it reminded me of what I wanted to get in the US before I went home...and YES THERE IS A LUSH STORE IN NEW ORLEANS! I can't wait. :D

Look what arrived today curtesy of theduffster. Thanks, Duffster!

They just arrived at a good time - I've been having some bad days and am not feeling too well, so these cheered me up quite a lot. Can't wait to use them.

By now my Champagne Snow Showers is all gone and I am half-way through Beer, Frankincense and Myrrh. I also think that I have discovered why Each Peach seems so popular in Germany: while using it today I realised it smells exactly of these sweets that were very popular when I was little (they're still available). They are orange and lemon falvoured and smell just like the massage bar. :suspicious:
