Thanks, Ber and Tosh. :) I am really looking forward to the interview and keep having to remind myself that it is an actual job interview and not just a fun evening. :P

*prints out CV*

I don't think there is much I can do in preparation except look at their website and forum and know my own CV. The latter is the hardest. :P

Forgot to post about the interview. :P

It went very well yesterday though the manager and sub-manager aren't the type of people I'd normally have much to do with at all. :uhoh: They were nice, but not my type, if that makes sense. Before I even reached my flat that evening, I got a call from them inviting me for a trial today. So I've just returned after an hour of selling and am waiting to see if I get a call again today or tomorrow. If they do call, it means I can start. :D

No idea how it went. I thought it was good. I am not the sort of person who jumps on people and stays with them all the time. So I just greeted them and spoke to them when they were looking at certain products, told them about them, demonstrated some things and tried to find out what sort of things they generally like. So that's the sort of salesperson I'd like around me, but I have no idea if that was all right with my colleagues. We'll find out.

That was what I had trouble with when I worked there. At least in the US, we were trained on how to approach people because they wanted us to be all over the customer, explaining how wonderful each product is, why it's great, why lush is great, what 2-3 ingredients in every product is and what it does...blah blah blah. We even had a training called "Selling the Sizzle" where we spent 3 hours just training about how to sell things. Not about the actual products, but the way to approach and work with people in order to maximize sales.

That part I could have done without. :help:

Same here. I did find the staff in the Dallas Lush to be annoying though every UK one I've been to fine. The UK ones ask you if you need any help and if you say no they leave you alone until you ask for help.

I agree. Usually, people get the hint and will leave you alone. But the Lush management tended to be real big on "our stuff is so special, no one will understand if we don't force it down their throats." :P

No call from them yet. :scared: I assume it is less about how well we did on trial, but who they think they can get along with best as a team. So I can't really tell how well it went. :P I did enjoy particularly talking to one team member - so it's not just all weird people they're like I feared. ;)

I've also had the impression that the SAs in the Bath shop aren't all over you, which is good. When I was in Covent Garden it was really bad though.

As I wrote in my thread: got the job. :D They called me this afternoon and I already thought they wouldn't call me back at all. That was a nice surprise. :)

I'm no salesman, but I would suggest that's the last thing you'd want to do.

K, I am not sure if this is the correct thread to bump up, but I need some advice.

I need to dye my hair. One patch on the front of my head, is most definitely grey. I was thinking of using one of the hair henna colours that Lush offers. (Conventional chemical dyes are not an option for me.)

I spoke to a Lush salesperson and they said, for covering grey, I should probably dye my hair brownish first and then dye the black over it. I am on tight budget so I can only afford one.

I read a bit about the black hair dye, and it says it has a bit of blue in it. I do not want blue, hair, I want a natural look on covering my greys.

Has anyone tried any of the hair henna? Has anyone tried the black henna? I guess the most important thing, how is the grey coverage?

I read the reviews on the Lush Canada website, but the opinions vary widely on the grey coverage issue.

(Yes, I know I have been away for a while, but I am in the middle of moving, job fairs, and training for an upcoming election.)

ETA: I should say my hair is thick and has lots of ..umm.. mass, and breaks easily. I don't chemically straighten my hair. (If you ever saw the movie Good Hair, you would not want to either.)

Anyone try the tooth tabs? Tried some Atomic and it's really awesome.

You didn't get any answers on the henna, did you? :( I was hoping you would. I've been considering it for myself. I have naturally red hair that is fine. When I was younger is was brand-new copper penny red. Now it's sort of tarnished copper penny red with white strands here and there.

I'll let you know when I take the plunge, I think I will just go with the black.

I did not like the toothy tabs at all. They aren't minty enough (not even Ultrablast) and the bicarbonate leaves a strange aftertaste/feel. I tried two kinds of tabs, Dirty (a whole box) and Ultrablast (a few samples). I'm afraid it's not for me.

It seems they've not brought back Snowshowers shower jelly for Christmas. Bummed, that stuff was gorgeous!

Yeah, the next time I get a chance, I will be ordering from the Retro section of the Lush website (they discontinued Smitten).

On the toothy tabs I have only tried Atomic and I find I really like them. I will try other flavours and see how it goes.
