Someone at work told me about this place, and I didn't believe it until I checked it on google maps:

link on google maps

Apparently they have a lot of problems with "stupid English tourists" that keep ripping off the signs. :D

Disclaimer: Lali, ask your kids to leave the room before clicking on the link...

Edit: typo

:LMAO: :LMAO:

I remember on my 8th grade trip to Washington DC and surrounding areas, we went to Intercourse, Pennsylvania. You can imagine the snickering going on with a bus full of Eighth Graders. :damnfunny:

As I recall we ended up all on the bus sitting there because one moron in the group decided to steal a shirt that said property of intercourse! :rage:

I have been to Dildo, Newfoundland. A pretty little town. They have Conception Bay there in Newfoundland, as well, and another town named Come-by-Chance.

Them Newfies, eh?

Just a short drive away from me is the lovely Wisconsin state park called the Bong Recreational Area.

Everything you need to know. ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucking,_Austria

It's pronounced "Fook-ing".
Quote:
The village is known to have existed as "Fucking" since at least 1070 and is named after a man from the 6th century called Focko. "-ing" is an old Germanic suffix indicating the people of the root word to which it is attached; thus Fucking means "(place of) Focko’s people."

Likewise, not too far from me reside villages with the delightful names of Upper and Lower Dicker...

The wikipedia article for Fucking is exquisite. :damnfunny: :damnfunny:
Quote:
One version of the sign featured the village name with an additional sign beneath it, with the words "Bitte — nicht so schnell!", which translates from German into English as "Please — not so fast!"
Quote:
Augustina Lindlbauer, the manager of an area guesthouse, noted that the area had lakes, forests and vistas worth visiting, but there was an "obsession with Fucking". Lindlbauer recalled how she had to explain to a British female tourist "that there were no Fucking postcards."
Quote:
Tarsdorf municipality's mayor Siegfried Hauppl stated that it was decided to keep the name as it had existed for 800 years,[7] and further stated that "(e)veryone here knows what it means in English, but for us Fucking is Fucking — and it's going to stay Fucking."
