I was trying in the I Can Has Cheezburger thread but Jude told me to shut up. ;) :D

It's actually quite fun searching for a LOL cat response. :D

I have a hard time believing that first picture is real.

Really? Why? If there's a fair bit of lightning going off all one has to do is a longer exposure in order to catch multiple bolts.

It wasn't the picture, it was the event - the thing looks like the end of the world! :Q

That horse pic is great. :)

Ah, gotcha.

I just finished looking through all three parts and that was an amazing series of pictures. Thanks Brian. :)

I agree.

Have you ever seen the movie Amelie?

There is a scene in the film where a horse jumps into the Peloton during the Tour de France, and I was wondering if the woman on the horse was doing an homage to that, or whether the idea of running a horse beside the cyclists was a long-standing tradition.

It happens all the time. People love showing off in different ways (not negatively meant) when the peloton passes, and riding next to it seems to be popular. Good way to earn a couple of seconds on TV (the TV helicopters following the peloton like to film the riders), and probably great fun. :D

Number 9 on the year in pictures makes me almost cry. I know that bridge. Those houses look familiar (but I'm sure they aren't)......I grew up in Cedar Rapids... :bawl:

Awesome links Brian.

I've cried a thousand oceans, and I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home.

Dave's picture is basically of the wolfman. If you follow the golf club, it leads to the bottom row of jaws. Look for the eyes not far above that, and two pointy ears on top. It's "legs" are near the man's legs.

This seems like the appropriate place to mention this... I looked up the photographer in your sig, Lali, and wow! I saved about half of his photos as lighting research. They're just gorgeous!
