There's only one way to end a sentence. Period.

That may be the final word on the subject, but I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch because I've put all my eggs in one basket, and you have to break some eggs to make an omelet.

Well, I'm going to do this by the book.

Did you know there is a "Methuen Dictionary of Clichés"?

And I do own it. Thought I would not have an use for it until the cows come home.
(At least I think I didn't open it for 20 years now....)

Well, you can't judge a book by its cover.

You have to get behind someone first before you can stab them in the back.

We need a holistic learning experience to facilitate our interpersonal growth potentials.

Whoops, it's cliche month not psychobabble month.
Back to the drawing board.

Well, Lali, to let the cat out of the bag :

some of the clichés are taught at our schools.....

and some come from the school of hard knocks.

I'm behind this thread 110%. I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I've walked a mile in your shoes and I know where the shoe pinches. This is where the rubber meets the road, eh?

I agree, though I think you're referring more to idioms. I remember my mom had a book that was full of German idioms. You never think about how much they sound like nonsense until you encounter a foreign one. Heck, I encounter it in England and they speak the same language as me...mostly.

In order to serve you better, we are continuing to leave this thread open until a June thread is started.

In the meantime, please refrain from refraining to post in the meantime.
